Trump 'shares private message to Speaker Mike Johnson' publicly in awkward blunder
President Trump appears to have accidentally shared a private message intended for House Speaker Mike Johnson on social media, sparking widespread ridicule online.
President Donald Trump seems to have accidentally posted a private message on his Truth Social account in what social media users are describing as a significant blunder.
The message appeared as a public post on Trump's account around 7:40 a.m., stating, "Mike: Thank you for your nice words on Fox. We are on the same path. Keep up the great work. Good luck on the Show! President DJT."
Social media users quickly mocked the president, with many linking the post to mounting worries about his health. "Sh–- like this is why he gets 3 checkups in 13 months," one X user wrote. It came several hours before Trump was seen swaying in an alarming new health video.
"How do I open a PDF File??? President DJT," another added, reports the Mirror US, reports the Irish Star.
"Time to ace another cognitive exam," another user added.
Multiple users speculated Trump was communicating with Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who had been on "Fox and Friends Weekend" on Sunday. Johnson commented on the president's possible deal with Iran as well as the recent White House shooting incident.
"Remember when he posted a private message to Pam Bondi? Looks like Mike Johnson's days are numbered as Speaker," an X user said.
This isn't the first time the president has made mistakes on social media. On Sept. 20, Trump posted a message on his Truth Social platform calling on then Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has been criticized for politicizing the Justice Department, to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey and other individuals. "Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, 'same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam 'Shifty' Schiff, Leticia??? They're all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.'" the president stated in his post.
"We can't delay any longer, it's killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!" he continued.
At that moment, widespread rumors indicated the direct messages were meant to be part of a private conversation with the Attorney General. Weeks afterward, officials verified this to be accurate.
A Wall Street Journal report revealed that U.S. officials familiar with the situation confirmed the message was aimed at Bondi, and that the president was surprised when he learned it had become public.
In response, "Bondi grew upset and called White House aides and Trump, who then agreed to send a second post praising Bondi as doing a 'GREAT job,'" the Journal's article explains.
The professional relationship between Bondi and Trump ultimately ended several months later, when the president dismissed her in early April. This follows reports that Trump's eldest son, Donald Jr, was forced to relocate his wedding for an embarrassing reason.
