As Americans it is our patriotic responsibility to resist and protest this war as it has not been authorized by the US Congress, the only part of our government with the authority to declare war according to the US Constitution. This isn’t a commander in chief wrestling with the weight of sending people into harm’s way. It’s a guy who treats our troops like disposable props for his second‑term war storyline.
Senator Tammy Duckworth left parts of her body on the battlefield, and she’s been warning for days that Trump’s reckless strikes on Iran would be paid for by American troops and taxpayers, not the billionaires cheering him on from Mar‑a‑Lago. She understands “the way it is” because she’s lived it — he understands it as a talking point.
If you can look at Gold Star families, military spouses, kids watching this war unfold and shrug “that’s the way it is,” you don’t deserve to lead the people you’re sending into combat.
We don’t have to accept a president who casually predicts “there will likely be more” Americans killed and then calls it fate. We can listen to veterans like Tammy Duckworth instead of a man who’s never heard a shot fired in anger but is perfectly willing to gamble with other people’s lives.
