In the aftermath of President Donald Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s announcement about the supposed causes of autism—which, again, are not backed by any other public health body in the world—a surprising group remains confused, even pissed: the anti-vax crowd.
As my colleagues Anna Merlan and Kiera Butler report, some anti-vax groups are frustrated that the president blamed Tylenol and not vaccines for autism—again, neither theory is true—with the announcement prompting something of a crisis among Kennedy’s anti-vax allies. Even Steve Bannon expressed irritation. “This Tylenol thing stinks to high heaven,” the MAGA stalwart said on his podcast.
