Donald Trump Makes a New 9/11 Claim 25 Years After the Attacks
9/11 is an incident that no one in the nation can forget, and now, 25 years after the attacks, Donald Trump, who has been in the headlines for his statements, has spoken about the tragedy in a way that could leave the nation surprised.
Donald Trump makes a new claim about his role at Ground Zero after 9/11
President appeared in an interview with Fox on Sunday, during which Donald Trump recalled the World Trade Center attack and discussed his role at Ground Zero after 9/11.
“And I went down there very shortly thereafter, the following day. You couldn’t go down the same day, but like, the following day, very quickly afterwards, and we worked long and hard, but it was just so terrible, so hopeless,” he added.
The 80-year-old had made claims about visiting the site before, but according to The Daily Beast’s coverage, this may be the first time Trump has given a specific date for the trip.
The US president previously made the claim during a 2019 signing ceremony at the White House for a bill providing funding to support the health of first responders. In addition, during a 2021 interview, the Republican Party member also claimed that he had safely rescued two senior firefighters from a building he believed could collapse. However, on both occasions, he did not specify exactly when the incident took place.
However, former New York Fire Department Deputy Chief Richard Alles, who attended the 2019 signing ceremony and was among those who helped in the aftermath, said he never saw Donald Trump at the site. According to Alles, he himself spent several months there.
Talking about the World Trade Center tragedy, the devastating incident took place on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people, including the terrorists, lost their lives in the attacks.
