THE ACLU is checking in with members and supporters and potential new members and supporters to find out what you can participate in with the ACLU in 2026. Check out this e mail and the links regarding being an activist, a volunteer and / or a card carrying member. I am all three and have been for years. Check out my e mail to my representative and senators on the illegal and immoral actions of Secretary of Homeland Security fascist fotze trunt kkkristi noem and her ice-hsi-cbp agents at the end of this post, I hope you will take the time to e mail your representative and senators too.
It's already clear that 2026 will be another immense year for civil liberties. Here at the ACLU, we're doubling down on our commitment to protecting our freedoms everywhere they're threatened – for all of us. There's a role for everyone in the fight to protect our freedoms – which path will you choose as we enter 2026? THE ACTIVISTIn 2025, over 2.4 million people joined the ACLU community in taking action online to protect our rights – from signing petitions to sending messages directly to their elected officials and other key decision-makers to demand change. We're building on that momentum in 2026 – pushing to stop President Trump's illegal boat strikes, stop ICE's cruelty against our immigrant friends and neighbors, and pass legislation that strengthens the protections of our Constitution. The message:An ICE agent killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis mother, shooting her three times in the head through her car window. This is a reckless, horrific shooting that should have never happened. Renee's killing came just one day after the Trump administration stormed Minnesota communities with an unprecedented 2,000 federal agents. Children are afraid to go to school and Minnesota families are reeling from fear and a sense of chaos. For months, the Trump administration has been deploying heavily armed federal agents into our communities. They are smashing car windows, dragging people from their cars, zip-tying children, and physically harming our neighbors – citizens and non-citizens alike. And yesterday, we saw another devastating and predictable consequence. We can't wait around while ICE harms more people. Congress MUST demand an end to these reckless immigration raids, and oppose any bill that would add to ICE's already massive budget. If you're ready to become an ACLU Activist in 2026, go to the ACLU and then click on take action THE VOLUNTEEROur volunteer force is mighty, with over 170,000 first-time volunteers joining us since Election Day 2024 alone. If you're ready to become an ACLU Volunteer in 2026, RSVP for the January Action Call now >> THE CARD-CARRYING MEMBERNone of the ACLU's critical work to defend our Constitution and protect our most fundamental freedoms would be possible without the generous support of people like you. Our community ensures that our lawyers are well-resourced to fight back in court, our organizers can show up in every community where our rights are threatened, and our policy team can advocate for good legislation while fending off attacks in Congress. No matter which path you choose, we're grateful to have you by our side. Thank you for all that you do. Onward, The ACLU Team |

| MY e mail to Rep Subramanyam D-VA 10th, Sen Warner Subject: No more ICE raids: No more money for ICE Reckless ICE and Border Patrol enforcement operations in Minneapolis and across the country now are hurting children, families and our communities. Congress must act now to rein in ICE. ICE's violent operations show a disregard for the law and our basic civil rights. The federal agents terrorizing our communities must leave Minneapolis before others are hurt by the administration's cruelty. For months, ICE and other federal agents have escalated their operations in neighborhoods across the country, resulting in increasingly disturbing scenes and illegal conduct. ice-hsi-cbp agents are committing crimes with impunity a la gestapo tactics on immigrants and American citizens. The immorality and illegality of the Sec of Homeland Security kkkristi noem encourages the brutality of their actions, they have no fear of being held accountable for their crimes. Our communities have been left reeling as agents have arrested U.S. citizens, dragged children from their beds in the middle of the night in zip-ties, smashed car windows, and even driven away from an arrest scene with a toddler still in the backseat. Now, ICE agents have tragically killed a beloved community member in Minneapolis. And yet, the administration has the audacity to ask Congress for even more money to detain and deport people. As a member of Congress, you have a responsibility to hold ICE accountable for these abuses and demand answers – for the safety of every person that you represent. Specifically, I'm urging you to: • Demand an end to the ICE operation in Minneapolis and stop other large-scale escalations in our communities • Oppose any further funding to ICE's enforcement and detention budget • Launch a transparent and independent investigation into the killing of Renee Nicole Good, ICE's reckless hiring spree, and its apparent failure to hold its agents accountable to the law We cannot sit idly by as our neighbors are killed. Every day, more people are subjected to abuse at the hands of ICE – and more of your constituents live in fear. I hope you'll act immediately to stop ICE's escalation and protect us all.
