IT is widely accepted that America is being "governed" by an immoral corrupt authoritarian administration, an immoral congress controlled by the gop/greed over people-republican party and six immoral jurist on the scotus. It is also widely accepted the American electorate will change control of congress with our votes in the 2026 Midterm elections on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. Until we are able to remove all the evil of the current government we need to continue to defend our democratic Republic and all the rights and protections our constitution provides to every person within our borders. Under the Trump administration, millions of immigrants face detention for months or years, in horrific conditions, without ever getting a chance to ask a judge to let them go home, no matter how long they've lived in the United States or how deep their family and community ties run. That's why we sued the Trump administration – and the Supreme Court just agreed to hear our case challenging this inhumane and illegal policy. But we can't leave these decisions up to the President. Congress doesn't have to wait for a ruling to reform our detention system and make sure no one is denied their day in court again. Tell your members of Congress to do their part to end this dangerous policy now and pass the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act.
The Trump administration has already handed ICE $45 billion in taxpayer dollars to expand its horrific detention and deportation systems and detain thousands of people every day despite continued abuses and harms in custody, including preventable deaths caused by medical neglect. This $45 billion includes money handed out to for-profit private prison corporations and purchasing warehouses not fit for people, at well above market rates. Cruelty is the point. The courts have ruled over and over again that the federal government cannot twist the law to detain immigrants for months or years on end without a bond hearing and that the government is failing to meet their basic responsibility to ensure people in immigrant detention have access to medical care and their lawyers. Our government is subjecting immigrants, including children, to a detention system defined by abuse and a complete disregard for human dignity. Immigrants are part of our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, and places of worship. No one should be detained indefinitely and denied basic due process. Congress has a responsibility to conduct oversight and hold ICE accountable. Pass the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act
Immigrants are part of our families, communities, workplaces, and places of worship. Like generations before them, they came here in search of a better life. But the Trump administration has adopted an unlawful immigration policy that subjects immigrants to a detention system defined by abuse, medical neglect, and a complete disregard for human dignity. As your constituent, I urge you to support and pass the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act.
Between 2017 and 2021, 95 percent of deaths in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) concentration camps were preventable with appropriate medical care. Since January 2025, more than 50 people have died in ICE concentration camps. These were not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of a punitive system. Yet the administration has already handed ICE billions to expand detention and deportation capacity and is still seeking more taxpayer dollars. There is no doubt, considering the immorality of the Homeland Security administration and the endemic abuse, ignorance, brutality, bigotry, neglect, hatred and misogyny prevalent throughout every section of the department that there would not be any objection to ovens and mass graves at all of their concentration camps. The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act offers a different path: it ends the administration's abuse of mandatory detention, ends the detention of children and families, phases out private detention facilities, and requires unannounced inspections and rapid reporting of deaths in custody.
The United States has long been a place of refuge. Mass detention is antithetical to our laws, our values, and basic human decency. Use your power to hold ICE accountable and pass the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act to end this cruel and dangerous detention system.
