Target is not in ''Shipt'' shape 10JUL20

I am a Target shopper but I don't have to be. I can afford to spend a little more or go without some things as long as Target pays their ceo, the dishonorable and extremely greedy corporate pig brian cornell tens of millions while refusing to provide progressive employee benefits and living wages to all their employees. Check this out from Ultra Violet, send the tweets and stay away from Target as much as you can until they pay and provide the same benefits to their "Shipt" employees as received by the rest of Target employees.
COVID-19 case numbers are surging around the country, with multiple states reporting records for new cases seemingly every day.1 Through it all, frontline workers, the majority of whom are people of color, continue to work every day to keep America going and help us stay at home and stay safe.
As Americans stay home and more states put in new lockdown measures and restrictions, the need for grocery and goods delivery services will only continue to increase. Shipt, Target's grocery delivery service, drove an astounding amount of revenue for Target, which has also led to Shipt expanding its workforce by 100,000 people in the past couple of months.2
But Shipt workers are not given the same protections as other Target workers. Currently, Target employees receive up to 150 days of paid medical leave and four weeks of family caregiving leave, but this policy doesn't extend to Shipt workers.3
With coronavirus testing still hard to access in much of the country, Shipt workers must decide between caring for themselves or a sick family member or coming to work and putting others at risk.
Target must ensure that ALL of its workers receive the same, robust paid leave benefits, especially during an out-of-control pandemic!
Target is active on social media and monitors its social mentions. We can speak directly to Target by tweeting at them, educating others about the hypocrisy of Target's policies, and pressuring Target to do better. Can you take a moment to tweet at Target and its leadership? Just click the links below for some sample tweets!
Shipt workers are not eligible for paid leave unless diagnosed with COVID-19 or put under a mandatory quarantine. And even then, they are only eligible to receive 50% of their pay for two weeks. Seriously
Target prides itself on being progressive, socially responsible, and a leader in employee satisfaction and treatment. But it continues to ignore the needs of a critical part of its workforce.4 That is why UltraViolet is working with PL+US (Paid Leave for the United States) and Shipt workers to amp up consumer pressure on Target to do the right thing and extend the same paid leave benefits to Shipt workers as it does to other Target employees. Join us in making sure that Target hears directly from consumers!
Thanks for speaking out!
