CONGRESS MUST DO THE FOLLOWING TO HELP THE NATION SURVIVE THE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 PANDEMIC 5JUL20

PHYSICAL DISTANCING: SIX FEET APART IS BETTER THAN SIX FEET UNDER!

CORONAVIRUS DASHBOARD

SENATOR BERNIE SANDERS I VT is calling on the U.S. Senate to take the following action when they return to D.C. after their July 4th recess. We, the people, need to tell our senators and representative to support Sen Sanders on these issues. Note I said tell our senators and representative, keep in mind they work for you and me, we are the employers, they are the employees. These programs and policies will cost money, money that is available from the  bloated Pentagon budget and by revoking the drumpf / trump-pence tax cuts for the rich and corporate America. This to do list from Sen Sanders is just the start of the restoration of the American Social Contract, and if the programs and policies listed by Sen Sanders are not enacted and fully funded we will continue our downward spiral to third world status (the richest, most powerful country in the world should not have the highest infection and death count from the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic).  For anyone who may need help with their e mail to their senators and representative mine is at the bottom of this post and it is OK to copy and paste if you want.....

Sadly, we have a "stable genius" president who is clearly incapable of doing the job required during these crises.
Here we are, in the midst of the worst public health crisis in more than 100 years.
As you read this, the number of COVID-19 cases is skyrocketing in this country to levels far greater than at any point in this crisis. The United States — with just 4 percent of the world’s population — accounts for 25% of the world’s coronavirus cases and deaths.
And the Republican Senate is doing nothing.
We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Over 30 million Americans have lost their jobs, many have lost their health insurance and families across the country are struggling to put food on the table and not get evicted from their homes.
And the Republican Senate is doing nothing.
From coast to coast, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand an end to systemic racism and police brutality and murders. The fight for racial justice is accelerating.
And the Republican Senate is doing nothing.
The temperature in Siberia recently reached 100 degrees, sea levels are rising, and scientists tell us that we have just a few years to move aggressively away from fossil fuels if we are to save this planet for our kids and future generations.
And the Republican Senate is doing nothing.
Meanwhile, in the midst of these unprecedented crises, not everyone is hurting in America, not everyone is worrying about how they will pay their bills or feed their families.
While more than 32 million Americans have lost jobs during this pandemic, the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality grows even wider as more than 600 billionaires have seen their wealth go up by $565 billion. Jeff Bezos, the world's richest person, has seen his wealth skyrocket to nearly $172 billion as Amazon's stock soars.
Sadly, in the midst of all this, we have a "stable genius" president who is clearly incapable of doing the job required during these crises.
He denies science, and as he does the pandemic spreads.
This is a president who thinks the coronavirus will just “disappear” and that he has a “natural ability” to understand this deadly virus. It will not, and he does not. As a result, people are dying every day because of his lies and incompetence.
As you know, I have brought forth a number of initiatives to protect our people during this unprecedented moment in modern American history.
These are ideas that the American people support, and it is time that the do-nothing Senate implement them. But this I know: nothing will happen unless the American people stand up, fight back, and demand, in overwhelming numbers, that the Senate act.
So before the Senate returns from our 4th of July recess, I would like my colleagues to hear from you.
That means:
Passing the Paycheck Security Act.
Passing the Emergency Health Care Guarantee Act.
Providing $2,000 emergency payments to every working class American until this crisis is over.
Saving the Postal Service.
Extending the $600 a week increase in unemployment benefits.
Canceling rent and mortgage payments until the pandemic ends.
Making sure no one in America goes hungry by substantially increasing nutrition assistance programs.
Manufacturing and distributing high quality masks for ALL through the Defense Production Act.
So today, I want to ask you to do something important — to make your voice heard on these issues before my colleagues return from recess. What do you say?
Thank you for making your voice heard.
In solidarity,
Bernie Sanders
MY E MAIL TO SENS KAINE AND WARNER AND REP WEXTON

Here we are, in the midst of the worst public health crisis in more than 100 years.

The number of COVID-19 cases is skyrocketing in this country to levels far greater than at any point in this crisis. The United States — with just 4 percent of the world’s population — accounts for 25% of the world’s coronavirus cases and deaths.

We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Over 30 million Americans have lost their jobs, many have lost their health insurance and families across the country are struggling to put food on the table and not get evicted from their homes.

From coast to coast, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand an end to systemic racism and police brutality and murders. The fight for racial justice is accelerating.

This is a president who thinks the coronavirus will just “disappear” and that he has a “natural ability” to understand this deadly virus. It will not, and he does not. As a result, people are dying every day because of his lies and incompetence.

Congress must pass legislation to protect the health and economic well-being of the American people That means

Funding is available by cutting the bloated Pentagon budget and by rolling back the drumpf / trump-pence tax breaks for the rich and corporate America. These are ideas that the American people support, and it is time that Congress implement them.
