A very bad neighbor to the people living around the winery. The owner deploys air cannons that go off every min to scare birds away. From sunrise to sunset, these things go off every minute. And when his neighbors have complained he has moved the cannons closer to their homes. There are only 2 other wineries in the county who use these to keep birds out of their vineyards, and only in their vineyards where there are no close neighbors.

These imbeciles have no idea what they are ranting against. A few of our neighbors have decided that I am the cause of everything wrong in the world. Someone mows grass too early in the morning…must be me. A chain saw disturbs their afternoon…I’m to blame. An extra car drives into their corner of the county…we can’t have that. They want isolate themselves from the world and I don’t fit into that plan. How dare I provide jobs and create something special in Southern Fauquier County. This jackass has never visited my tasting room, can’t say anything about my wines, and has no legitimate gripe about anything. He chooses to lash out at someone who is doing something with his life (in stark contrast to himself). Don’t be a lemming- visit us, decide for yourself, and I guarantee that the trip won’t be wasted.

ISN'T google supposed to be the DO NO HARM company? So what the hell is up with them joining alec? The campaign to get companies to withdraw their memberships from alec has been successful, but now social media and tech giants google, yelp and facebook have joined this organization of right wing tea-bagging extremist whose main purpose is to do harm to the 99% through legislation benefiting their plutocrat masters. Please join the campaign calling on all three companies to withdraw from alec, click the link.....

Facebook, Google, and Yelp just joined the American Legislative Executive Council, one of the worst right-wing lobbying forces in history. Call on the three tech giants to dump ALEC now.

Union-busting, fighting Obamacare, backing the Stand Your Ground laws that led to Trayvon Martin’s death, denying the proof of climate change… there’s nothing the American Legislative Exchange Council won’t stoop to.

The public outcry against ALEC has caused nearly fifty corporations to drop out over the past several months. But now Facebook, Google and Yelp are looking to reverse that trend. The companies recently joined the group responsible for some of the most egregious anti-labor, anti-environment, anti-poor, and anti-minority legislation in the past decade. Now, we need to raise an outcry to show them that getting in bed with ALEC is unacceptable, before all the hard work over the past year is undone.

Demand Facebook, Google and Yelp drop their ALEC membership now.

We can’t afford to have three major tech companies help finance a monstrosity like this right-wing lobbying group, and they can’t afford the bad press that comes with an ALEC membership. ALEC has become a toxic brand that image-conscious companies don’t want to be associated with.

ALEC worked in close conjunction with the NRA to push the controversial Stand Your Ground law onto dozens of states. ALEC helped private prison companies enact Arizona’s “papers please” law in order to fill up cells with Latinos. It has sponsored a host of horrific laws that are tearing down personal rights and handing over money to corporations. We simply cannot allow such practices to be condoned by major companies.

Our voices already shamed over fifty companies and nonprofits, including the likes of Amazon, Walmart, and Coca-Cola, into dropping out of the American Legislative Executive Council. Just recently, after months of pressure by students, Sallie Mae left the group. But if we don’t speak out now, Google, Facebook, and Yelp could start back the movement of corporate funding into ALEC.

Sign on to tell Google, Facebook, and Yelp to stop associating with ALEC immediately.

Help Yelp Leave ALEC 19AUG13

YELP used to be cool, a great way to check out ratings on everything from people in your own community. Then they turned to the dark side and joined alec and so are guilty of supporting stand your ground, voter suppression, anti immigration reform, opposition to gun control,  opposition to Obamacare, opposition to public school funding, and a whole host of other regressive neo-con policies with the goal of taking our country back to the "good old days" when white men were the only ones who made the rules and the money. Here's an easy way to tell Yelp to turn from the dark side, send them one of the tweets below.....
As the Huff Post reported last week, our efforts to hold Yelp accountable for joining ALEC has been a huge success. Thousands of people have left negative reviews on ALEC’s Yelp page and I even received a call from Yelp’s corporate lobbyist shortly after our action. But it’s not all-good news. We have more work to do.
Our actions have been wildly successful, but Yelp has no plans to leave ALEC - though they are listening to us very closely. Let’s help Yelp leave ALEC by pushing this even further..

3)   Review Yelp on Yelp.  Keep the formal protest going by telling Yelp to leave ALEC by giving them a one-star on their own page. Click here to review Yelp on Yelp. Be passionate, but be respectful.
We will continue to monitor this and follow-up with more actions you can take, but right now, those actions are the best things you can do to Help Yelp leave ALEC.
Companies need to stop giving the ultra conservative ALEC any credibility.
