THERE are so many stupid people on the net, stupidity fueled by hatred of the federal government, especially the Obama administration (racist hatred), that they will believe anything that reinforces their hate. This was put out on the net by the national report, a fake news agency but one with tea-bagger right wing views that seeks to manipulate and deceive the American electorate before the 2014 mid term elections with this post. Fanatics grabbed it and ran with it like it was gospel. Fools! From +PolitiFact .....

A reader asked us
to check a chain email circulating the link to this article, which
turns out to be another case of satire passed off as truth.
Readers recently forwarded us a claim they had begun seeing
in their inbox -- and which their friends were believing. It was a link
to a story headlined, "2014 Federal Tax Refunds To Be Delayed Until
October 2015."
This would be a pretty big deal if true. Is it?
The short answer is: No.
It turns out that the article was published in September 2014 on a website called the National Report. Here’s a portion of the article:
"Normally when you file your taxes,
whatever money is owed back to you is quickly repaid. The process of
getting your money back has been made even quicker in recent years
through the use of E-file and direct deposit of federal tax rebates. But
starting in 2015, federal tax refunds for the 2014 fiscal year are
going to take longer for Americans to receive. A lot longer.
"The deadline to have your federal taxes
filed will remain April 15th, but under new directives issued to the
IRS, no refunds are to be issued before October 15th, 2015. This means
that early filers who normally receive their refunds around the
beginning of February will have to wait an additional 7 months longer
than normal to get the money owed to them.
"White House Press Secretary Josh
Earnest defended the upcoming changes to IRS tax refund policy. 'It’s a
minor cost saving measure initiated by the administration with
bipartisan support,' said Earnest. 'The recommendation to initiate this
new refund structure came out of the Committee On Ways And Means, under
the leadership of Republican Congressman David Camp. Absolutely zero
dollars are going to be kept that is owed to hardworking Americans. All
you are seeing here is a policy change streamlining the way in which the
IRS structures tax refund repayments. Americans who find this
objectionable can always opt to bring their tax withholding more in line
with the actual taxes they will owe in the future.' "
The article went on to quote two Republican senators critical of the move -- Rand Paul of Kentucky and John McCain of Arizona.
A lot of people appeared to believe it. The article was shared
647,000 times on Facebook since it was published. Forbes tax columnist
Kelly Phillips Erb was among those who noted its wide reach.
There is one problem with the claim: It comes from a fake-news site.
The last time we checked a bogus claim from National Report, the site
had a disclaimer that said "the views expressed by writers on this site
are theirs alone and are not reflective of the fine journalistic and
editorial integrity of National Report." This disclaimer has since been
removed by the site.
Another, clearer disclaimer -- also removed -- has been archived by urban-legend investigation site Snopes.com. The disclaimer said,
"National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which
may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious
ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction,
and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely
coincidental."
We reached out several times to the IRS to see if we could get an
official disclaimer from the agency, but we never heard back. Our Ruling

Rumors of third Barack Obama term are satire passed off as truth

This is yet another example of satire being passed off as truth on social media.
Who says President Barack Obama -- facing weak approval
ratings, a tough midterm election and growing outrage over problems in
veterans’ health care facilities -- is in the dumps? He’s headed to a
third term! Or at least that’s the claim now bouncing around the
Internet.
A reader recently emailed us to ask if we could check out something they’d run into online -- a story
titled, "Obama Announces Plans For A Third Term Presidential Run." As
we'll see, it's another case of a satirical article being passed off as
real.
The article with a Washington dateline began, "President Barack Obama
shocked the country this morning with news that he is running for a
third term."
It went on to quote Obama at a press conference saying,"‘I can’t
abandon the American people now when they need me more than ever. We’ve
come this far as a nation, now is not the time to do something
different. This is the change you wanted and this is the change you’re
getting."
The article then quoted Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., telling CNN that he
opposes Obama’s decision. "This defies everything the Constitution
stands for," Paul is quoted as saying. "We can not let this man have a
third term."
The problem facing Obama, according to the article, is the 22nd
Amendment, which prevents presidents from running for more than two
terms. It was ratified in 1951.
However, the article suggests that Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., has
"recently introduced" a measure to abolish the 22nd Amendment -- which
is "exactly the kind of news that makes an Obama 2016 Presidential run
possible."
The article closes with a comment from Paul Horner, purportedly an administration spokesman.
"Obama is guaranteed to win in 2016 and then we’ll all be able to
enjoy this great man for another four years," the article quotes
"Horner" as saying. "Things could not get any better for the American
people. I’m so stoked!"
So is Obama really going to get around the Constitution to run for a third term?
Nope.
In fact, people passing along this story by email appear not to have
noticed that it comes from a satire site called the National Report.
The site’s tongue-in-cheek disclaimer
says, in part, that "the views expressed by writers on this site are
theirs alone and are not reflective of the fine journalistic and
editorial integrity of National Report." The urban-legend investigation
site Snopes.com has archived an even clearer disclaimer that has since been removed. The former disclaimer said,
"National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which
may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious
ways. All news articles contained within National Report are fiction,
and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely
coincidental."
As it happens, FactCheck.org
has been debunking similar "third-term" claims since 2009 -- the first
year Obama was in office, when he was still three years away from
running, legally, for his second term.
These earlier chain emails tended to focus on the amendment by
Serrano. The National Report satire piece is correct to say that Serrano
has introduced such legislation, but it’s hardly as recent a
development as the article suggests.
As FactCheck.org noted, Serrano introduced a similar measure numerous times during the presidencies of Bill Clinton (1997, 1999 and early 2001) and George W. Bush (2003,2005 and2007), with each bill dying in committee without coming to a vote.
"I introduce it as a matter of principle," Serrano told
FactCheck.org. "I do not believe there should be term limits for any
elected official. Elections should be the deciding factor. I do not
receive advice or support on this bill from the White House or any other
source."
The current version
of Serrano’s repeal bill has, as is typical, attracted no co-sponsors
and gone nowhere in committee. No one should be under the illusion that
this is an idea going anywhere soon.
We asked a White House spokesman if he wanted to comment. He politely declined. Our ruling

-- has no hope of passage, much less any chance of ratification in three

THIS is a perfect example of how hatred and voluntary ignorance can blind some people to the truth, and in this case, to a joke. And how some, who know it is a joke, will use something like this to fan the flames of hatred, ignorance, prejudice and fear. From PolitiFact.....

The fact that it came from a website,National Report, known for Onion-like satire, didn’t stop some bloggers from reporting it as news.
The piece was packed with fake details designed to press anti-Muslim buttons: President Barack Obama held a news conference to make his declaration. He said Muslims "are not all bad. In fact, most of them are good."
His announcement was hailed by a "member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party." He said he would work with Congress to make it easier for Muslims to earn U.S. citizenship.
"Mr. Matei of the Muslim Brotherhood assured me they want to come to this country to help us, not harm us," he was reported to say.
Following other attempts to paint Obama as a Muslim -- such as this one that we rated Pants on Fire -- the National Report’s gambit worked.
"How dare Obama declare November, the month when we give thanks to God for our blessings and great nation, National Muslim Appreciation Month!" wrote a blogger for Tea Party Nation.
The PolitiFact inbox saw email after email with links to such stories from readers who got it from outraged friends.
Urban-legend debunker Snopes.com quickly confirmed that it originated with National Report.
The headline was utterly invented, and the event was entirely fabricated.
While we didn’t hear back from the White House, we found no evidence of any such proclamation at the White House website.
We also asked Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
"I’m fairly certain they haven’t. Otherwise, I would have heard about it," he said.
As for Obama’s purported proclamation, the Tea Party Nation blogger posted an update to her outrage: "Just found out this article was a hoax. They sure fooled me. However, my comments still stand if O should ever do such a thing."
Our ruling
Bloggers posted a claim that the president had declared November "National Muslim Appreciation Month." He hasn’t — the claim was based on a piece of Internet satire. We rate the claim Pants on Fire.
