CREATING A LIFE THAT REFLECTS YOUR VALUES AND SATISFIES YOUR SOUL IS A RARE ACHIEVMENT

JUST think about this....Over three years ago I decided to change the way I define myself. I have a job but it is not my life. So when I meet someone new, or someone I haven't seen in a while, and am asked what I do I tell them with what I do, all the things I like to do and what I am interested in. Their expressions are hysterical, I can see the wheels turning, know they are thinking 'He doesn't look rich" and 'Doesn't he have a job?'. And when I am done telling them about what I do in my life they ask ' But what is your job?' and I tell them I have a job but it is not my life and their first question was 'What do you do?' Most I the time I never get around to telling them what my job is......

PUTTING LIFE BACK IN PERSPECTIVE

You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them.

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name  the five wealthiest people in the  world.

2. Name  the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name  the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4  Name  ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name  the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name  the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentialsthe most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most

FRUGALITY

"Frugality is one of the most beautiful and joyful words in the English language, and yet one that we are culturally cut off from understanding and enjoying. The consumption society has made us feel that happiness lies in having things, and has failed to teach us the happiness of not having things."
- Elise Boulding

BE KIND AND MERCIFUL........

"Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier."
