COSTCO AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA 18OKT26

Almost 25% of these apartments are set aside for low income families! We need more companies like Costco and less like amazon, space x, tesla, paypal, facebook and google just to name a few of the greediest corporations on the planet. From https://www.facebook.com/terriblyinteresting/ www.dei.watch

In South Los Angeles, a new kind of building is going up, with a full Costco warehouse store on the ground level and 800 apartments stacked on top of it. It's Costco's first store designed this way, built in partnership with the developer Thrive Living.
Of the 800 units, 184 are reserved for low-income households, which matters in a city where rents keep climbing and open land for new housing is scarce. Putting homes above a big-box store makes use of space that would otherwise be nothing but a roof.
The project uses AB 2011, a California law designed to speed up approvals for housing built on land zoned for commerce. Reports say it is privately funded without government subsidies, and the rent paid by the store helps support the homes above it.
For the people who eventually move in, the groceries will be downstairs, in a city that ranks among the most expensive housing markets in the United States.

HERE is a list of the companies from DEI WATCH of who does and does not kow-tow to the fascist drumpf / trump-vance administration and the gop / greed over people-republican party. Every purchase from the greedy corporations that support the drump / trump-vance administration's agenda is contributing to the assault on our democratic Republic and supports the imposition of the gop's, the fascist heritage foundation's and the "christian" nationalist's authoritarian theocratic oligarchy as outlined in project 2025.

Several corporations donated to both campaigns. Corporations that contributed 50% or more to Kamala Harris’s campaign than Trump’s are excluded. This section highlights corporations that donated to Trump’s campaign either evenly or more than to Kamala Harris's campaign, based on the 50%+ rule mentioned above, or donated at least $1M to Trump's inauguration. C = Campaign. I = Inauguration. (Last updated:  07/25/25)
