SSS Bob Barker Tailed by the Attack Dog of the Whaling Fleet Following the first no-kill January, the SSS Bob Barker found itself being tailed by the Japanese whaler's ship the Shonan Maru 2. In order to escape the armed Japanese Government vessel, which is known as the attack dog of Japan's illegal whaling fleet, the SSS Bob Barker travelled into the Australian territorial waters of Macquarie Island. The Macquarie Base commander had been notified by the Australian Antarctic Division to expect the potential arrival of the Shonan Maru No. 2. Learn what happened next... Australian Government Orders Japanese Whalers to Leave Australian Waters The Japanese security vessel, the Shonan Maru No. 2, which is carrying armed coast guards, entered the Australian Exclusive Economic Zone around Macquarie Island in pursuit of the SSS Bob Barker. The Australian government has officially notified the Japanese government to order their vessel to remain outside of Australian waters. Find out if the whalers followed the orders... Corporations threatened by Sea Shepherd are controlling courts and justice ministries, not surprising in Costa Rica but extremely disappointing in Germany and the EU. 

When we put out a call to action — Sea Shepherd supporters rally in droves! Just last week, our Cove Guardians had their computer gear confiscated by the police in Taiji in a ploy to try to disable our communications and stop us from internationally exposing the plight of the dolphins in the infamous Cove. In just a few days' time, people like you came through for us and raised the $4,000 USD necessary to replace our gear and reinstate our communications immediately. On behalf of the dolphins, thank-you for that! So it was only fitting that Captain Watson was honored in Paris recently as the second recipient ever of the prestigious Jules Verne Award in the category of Environmentalists and Adventurers, second only to the iconic Captain Cousteau himself. He did forfeit his bail and leave Germany, but this is not illegal in that country and German officials are not searching for him. In his first message to supporters since departing Germany, he tells us all why he made the decision to leave. The message was relayed to Sea Shepherd HQ via Captain Watson's attorney and confirms our suspicions: the Japanese government is making backroom deals with Costa Rica and Germany to try to extradite him. Costa Rica Elevates Politically Motivated Attack on Our Captain and Sea Shepherd Interpol yesterday announced it has issued a "Red Notice" to its member nations for Captain Paul Watson. This action occurred after Costa Rica revised its paperwork and resubmitted its request to Interpol seeking Captain Watson's detention or arrest with the intent to extradite him to Costa Rica.
