The Biden administration and the Democrats have done a superb job when it comes to portraying Americans who refuse to get the COVID-19 jab as uneducated or conspiracy theorists who dwell online in their mother’s basement. While it shouldn’t be that shocking, those who are fighting against the COVID-19 jab aren’t against a person getting it, they just don’t believe it’s the government’s right to mandate a drug. And it goes much deeper than just a few mandates or even the outlandish mask protocols that did little to help as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released a call to action on Sunday warning of the dangers of relinquishing freedoms to the government. 

In the video, which can be watched below, RFK Jr. warned the American people about the push by the government to take more control from the people. He stated, “I’m going to tell you these three things that you need to remember in this critical day and age. One – Once government acquires power, it never lets it go voluntarily. Two –  Every power that government acquires, using this pandemic as a pretense, it will ultimately abuse to the maximum effect possible. This is a rule that is as certain as gravity. And three – Nobody has ever complied their way out of totalitarianism. Every time you comply the demands will get greater and greater.”

Guests invited to a holiday party at the home of the leading anti-vaxxer Robert F Kennedy Jr were urged to be vaccinated or tested for Covid-19 because, Kennedy said, he is “not always the boss at my own house”.

Speaking to Politico, which reported the request before the party in California last week, Kennedy said his wife, the actor Cheryl Hines, was behind it.

He also said no effort was made to check if guests had been vaccinated or recently tested.

Amid widespread criticism, Doug Heye, a Republican operative, wrote: “The ol’ blame-the-wife-for-wanting-people-to-be-safe-when-you’re-an-anti-vaxxer move. Classy.”

Hines did not comment.

Kennedy, 67, is a nephew of President John F Kennedy and the second son of Robert F Kennedy, the US attorney general, New York senator and candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination who was assassinated in 1968.

The younger Kennedy has campaigned on environmental issues but is also a leading vaccines conspiracy theorist and activist against shots including those approved to combat Covid-19, which has killed more than 805,000 in the US and more than 5.3 million worldwide.

Earlier this year, Kennedy was removed from Instagram, for sharing misinformation about Covid-19. His Facebook page remains active, as does his Twitter account.

Last month, Kennedy released a book in which he attacks targets including Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser. Its title, The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health, has been no obstacle to bestseller status on Amazon.

Earlier this week, the Associated Press reported that Kennedy’s anti-vaccination non-profit, Children’s Health Defense, more than doubled revenue in the first year of the pandemic, reporting $6.8m raised.

Earlier this month, Kennedy told Gawker CHD “got funding from independent funders, from people whose children have been injured by medications, from people who want medical freedom”.

Questioned about his decision to title a section of his book Final Solution: Vaccines or Bust, Kennedy said: “I don’t think the vaccines have anything to do with eradicating the Jews.”

According to the AP, CHD has recently expanded the reach of its newsletter, launched an internet TV channel, started a movie studio, opened new US branches and established outposts in Canada, Europe and Australia.

The AP also said CHD had become a leading “alternative and natural medicine site”, with millions of users, in part by targeting groups that may be more prone to distrust vaccines, including mothers and African Americans.

“With the pandemic, [Kennedy has] been turbocharged,” Dr David Gorski, a cancer surgeon at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and a critic of the anti-vaccine movement, told the AP.

Dr Richard Allen Williams, a cardiologist and founder of the Minority Health Institute, said Kennedy was leading “a propaganda movement” and “absolutely a racist operation” particularly dangerous to Black Americans.

“He’s really the ringleader of the misinformation campaign,” Williams said.

Kennedy did not comment.

His sister, the human rights campaigner Kerry Kennedy, said: “Failure to take vaccines puts people’s lives at risk. It not only impacts the person who refuses the jab but imperils the community at large.”

She also said: “I love Bobby. I think he’s just completely wrong on this issue and very dangerous.”

Capitol riot arrest of restaurant owner rattles hometown

KANE, Pa. (AP) — A crank caller ordered an “insurrection pizza” from Pauline Bauer’s restaurant. A profane piece of hate mail addressed her as a domestic terrorist. She even became a punchline for Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show on CBS.

A swift backlash greeted Capitol riot suspects like Bauer when they returned to their homes across the U.S. after joining the mob that stormed past police barricades, smashed windows and disrupted the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential victory on Jan. 6. Relatives, friends or co-workers reported scores of them to the FBI. Some lost jobs. Others lost their freedom, jailed awaiting trials.

In Bauer’s hometown in rural Pennsylvania, her arrest and that of a longtime friend have rekindled partisan bickering, more often on social media than on street corners, some residents say. As Bauer and William Blauser Jr. fight the charges in court, many in the town of Kane have struggled to comprehend how two of their neighbors could be among the hundreds of Trump loyalists bent on overturning the election that day.

“I think it was totally outrageous, it was illegal and I think it was treasonous,” said Joe Lanich, who operates a letterpress print shop with his wife called The Laughing Owl Press Co. in Kane’s uptown business district. He said the town is populated by proud residents who work hard to improve Kane and “don’t want to see one person paint us in a bad light.”

Bauer tries to shrug off the scorn from strangers, but acknowledges her actions have angered some in her community.

“Some people didn’t like the fact that I became political,” she said during a break in dinner service at her restaurant, Bob’s Trading Post.

In the months since Jan. 6, former President Donald Trump and his supporters have sought to portray the rioters as peaceful patriots even as videos from that day show members of the mob beating police officers and hunting for lawmakers in an unthinkable attack on the seat of American democracy. On Tuesday, officers who defended the Capitol that day described to a congressional committee investigating the insurrection how they feared for their lives and continue to suffer physical and emotional pain.

Bauer was heard shouting at police to “bring Nancy Pelosi out” to be hanged during the riot, the FBI says. Five people died in the attack or its aftermath, and dozens of law enforcement officers were injured. More than 500 people have been charged with federal crimes.

Even so, some in Kane have stood by Bauer, who insists her actions haven’t cost her any friendships or harmed her business. On a recent Wednesday evening, tables at her restaurant were filled by her regular customers.

“She’s a human being who stood up for her rights. She should have a right to stand up for what she believes in,” said Glenn Robinson, 68.

Such political division over how Jan. 6 unfolded has occurred in communities across the country. Forty-seven percent of Republicans say it can be described as a “legitimate protest,” while only 13% of Democrats say the same, according to a June poll from Monmouth University.

A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that 81% of Democrats say it’s “extremely” or “very” important that investigations continue into what happened during the Capitol breach, but just 38% of Republicans say the same.

Bauer was arrested in May along with Blauser, a Vietnam War veteran and retired mail carrier. Surveillance video shows the two of them entering the Capitol through an east Rotunda door where at least three police officers were trying to block entry. Video from a police officer’s body camera captured Bauer saying to bring out Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House.

“Bring them out now. They’re criminals. They need to hang,” she said.

Trump received nearly three-quarters of the votes in the 2020 election in the county that incudes Kane, a borough in northwest Pennsylvania with roughly 3,500 residents, over 97% of whom are white. Many homes and businesses in town are still decorated with Trump signs and flags. A warehouse adorned with pro-Trump posters also has one that reads “Burn Loot Murder,” a derisive reference to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Road signs bill Kane as “A Star in the Forest” and as the hometown of the late NBA basketball coach Chuck Daly. The town also is known as the “Icebox of Pennsylvania” for its frigid, snowy winters.

Before the riot, most Kane residents knew Bauer for the deep-dish pizza and ice cream she has been serving since she bought the restaurant 15 years ago. That began to change as the coronavirus pandemic temporarily closed her business along with many others in the small town on the edge of the 517,000-acre Allegheny National Forest.

She became an outspoken critic of COVID-19 lockdown measures that cost her business and drove a wedge between neighbors who clashed on social media. She complained about a mask mandate during a school board meeting two weeks before her arrest, The Kane Republican newspaper reported.

Last year, as her business suffered, Bauer also began to embrace an ideology that appears to comport with the “sovereign citizens” extremist movement’s belief that the U.S. government is illegitimate. Bauer says she is a “sovereign people,” not a sovereign citizen, and refers to herself as “Pauline from the House of Bauer.”

Bauer has been combative with the judge presiding over her case and claimed the court has no authority over her. She was jailed for one night in June after she refused to answer a magistrate judge’s routine questions. During a recent hearing, she told U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden that she doesn’t want an attorney to represent her “or any lawyering from the bench.”

“I do not recognize your bar card, sir,” she told McFadden, who appointed a lawyer to act as her standby counsel.

She also told the judge that she wouldn’t allow a pretrial services officer to inspect her home, in person or virtually. The judge warned her that she could be jailed again if she refused to comply. He also denied her request to dismiss her charges, which include obstruction of an official proceeding and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds.

“On what terms?” she asked.

“You know what? You don’t get to demand terms from me,” the judge replied.

After the hearing, Blauser and Bauer hugged each other outside the Washington courthouse. Two days later, Blauser and his wife stopped by Bauer’s restaurant for dinner. He sometimes eats three meals in a day at Bob’s Trading Post and hasn’t broken his routine since their arrest. One of Blauser’s lawyers advised him to stay away from Bauer.

“I can’t do that because she’s my best friend, and I’m trying to help her. And if you can’t help your best friend, God help you,” he said.

On a recent episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the host mocked Bauer for claiming to be a “divinely empowered entity immune from laws.”

“Divinely empowered? So she’s going to get away scot-free, just like Jesus,” Colbert joked. “But it does raise the question: If you’re chosen by God to be above the laws of government, why do you care who’s in charge of it?”

Bauer posted on Facebook that she was inside the Capitol. Several witnesses who saw her posts contacted the FBI. One of them was a customer who said Bauer “became more and more political over the past year, and began losing business because people were uncomfortable about her constant political rhetoric,” according to an FBI agent.

Investigators believe Bauer used her restaurant’s Facebook page to promote a bus trip to Washington on Jan. 6 for the “mega million rally.”

“Need 51 people to fill a bus,” she wrote, according to the FBI.

Bauer denies that she organized a bus trip. Blauser said he, Bauer and seven others traveled to Washington in a passenger van, not a bus. She and Blauser left the Capitol about 38 minutes after they entered.

“A lot of people say that they’re proud of me for standing up for my rights,” Bauer said.

Blauser claims they “got caught up in the moment.”

“Everyone else was going up and going in, so we just followed along with them,” he added.

Bauser and Blauser both were freed on $10,000 bond after their arrests. They don’t have a trial date yet. More than 20 other Capitol riot defendants have pleaded guilty as of Monday. Only three have been sentenced, with one getting eight months in prison for breaching the U.S Senate chamber.

Kane Mayor Brandy Schimp, a first-term Republican, takes a long pause when asked about how she reacted to the Jan. 6 riot.

“I felt like it was time to shut the TV off and to get back to work because there’s too much division and there’s too much anger and there’s too much sadness and too much frustration,” she said.

Virginia couple sentenced to probation on Capitol riot charge

WASHINGTON — A husband and wife from Virginia were sentenced Wednesday in one of the first cases that featured only misdemeanor charges stemming from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Joshua and Jessica Bustle of Bristow, Virginia, were charged with illegally entering the Capitol, remaining inside for about 20 minutes, then leaving. They did not engage in any violent behavior or damage any property.

Both were sentenced to two years of probation and 40 hours of community service. Both were also sentenced to home confinement: 30 days for him and 60 days for her, based in part on comments she made supporting the rioters afterward.

"I seriously considered putting you in jail," U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Hogan said.

Prosecutors said the couple has already suffered "personal and reputational consequences" as a result of their participation. Joshua Bustle said he was no longer able to sell real estate, for example, and the couple plans to move “to start a new life.” He said their participation in the Capitol siege strained relations with family members.

But the government also said some period of confinement would help discourage similar behavior in the future.

"A riot cannot occur without rioters, and each rioter's actions — from the most mundane to the most violent — contributed, directly and indirectly, to the violence and destruction that day," prosecutors said.

Hogan said their case was different, however, because they came to Washington to participate in an anti-vaccine protest, not to participate in an effort to block Congress from counting the electoral vote.

After the riot, Jessica Bustle posted a message on social media saying the election was stolen and that she was proud of the people who entered the Capitol "for standing up." But she told the judge during Wednesday's sentencing hearing that she no longer believed that.

"With the perspective of things that I've seen that have taken place, no, your honor, I don't agree with that," she said. "The violence and stuff like that I wasn't aware of because I didn't see any of those things going on."

An Indiana woman was the first to be sentenced on misdemeanor charges for her participation in the riot. Anna Morgan-Lloyd was sentenced in June to three years of probation and ordered to perform 120 hours of community service and pay $500 in restitution.

Heavily Armed Cultist Guilty Of Death Threats Against Congress Members, Used Racist, Anti-Gay Language

Ryder Winegar, 34, of Amherst, pleaded guilty on Friday in federal court to six counts of threatening members of Congress and one count of transmitting interstate threatening communications, Acting United States Attorney John J. Farley announced.

In February 2021, Winegar was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with six counts of threatening members of Congress and one count of transmitting interstate threatening communications.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in the early morning hours of December 16, 2020, Winegar left voicemails at the offices of six members of the United States Congress in the District of Columbia.

In some of the messages, Winegar identified himself by name or identified his telephone number. The voicemails threatened to hang the members of Congress if they did not “get behind Donald Trump.”

For example, in one message, Winegar allegedly said, “I got some advice for you. Here’s the advice, Donald Trump is your president. If you don’t get behind him, we’re going to hang you until you die.”

Following his arrest on about January 11, 2021, investigators learned of a separate, e-mailed threat to a member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives on December 14, 2020, in which Winegar threatened to pull the representative from his bed and hang him.

By threatening to kill members of Congress and a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, this defendant sought to intimidate public officials. As this prosecution demonstrates, such conduct is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

The Cabinet Press reports:

Winegar fled to Brazil on Dec. 21, 2020, exactly one day after he discovered that police were investigating his calls to the members of Congress, according to court records. He returned to the United States on Jan. 11 and surrendered to FBI agents after he communicated with a defense attorney.

Along with the violent threats, and racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic language, Winegar allegedly also left his name and cell phone number on the voicemails.

Investigators reportedly found an AR-15 rifle loaded with light armor-piercing ammunition, a loaded shotgun, a loaded 9mm pistol, an unloaded rifle with a scope, several hundred rounds of ammunition, and a body armor vest, with clips and Level IV body armor plates, according to Magistrate Judge Andrea K. Johnstone’s order.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., suggested at a recent Republican fundraiser in Alabama that Southerners could threaten President Joe Biden's "police state friends" with guns if they show up at their homes asking about their coronavirus vaccination status.

The late-July event in Dothan was closed to the media, but a video clip of some of her comments leaked, according to the Alabama Political Reporter.

“You lucky people here in Alabama might get a knock on your door, because I hear Alabama might be one of the most unvaccinated states,” Greene told the crowd, prompting cheers and applause over the state's low vaccination rate. “Well, Joe Biden wants to come talk to you guys. He's going to be sending one of his police state friends to your front door to knock on the door, take down your name, your address, your family members' names, your phone numbers, your cellphone numbers, probably ask for your Social Security number and whether you've taken the vaccine or not.”

She continued: “What they don't know is in the South, we all love our Second Amendment rights, and we're not real big on strangers showing up on our front door, are we? They might not like the welcome they get.”

It wasn't clear whether Greene was referring to the administration's Covid surge response teams or grassroots volunteers encouraging vaccinations. The teams, made up of experts from FEMA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other federal agencies, aim to help states with low vaccination rates "prevent, detect and respond" to the spread of the delta variant.

NBC reached out to Greene's office for comment on the video and to confirm it showed her at the event. Her spokesman, Nick Dyer, simply replied, "These claims are ridiculous and yet another conspiracy theory from the left," without specifying what claims he meant.

The remarks from Greene, who has compared mask mandates to the Holocaust and was stripped of her committee assignments for promoting various conspiracy theories, mirrored other conservative rhetoric on Biden's plan.

At the event, Greene also denounced Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, referring to a conspiracy theory spread by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and other conservatives that suggests the National Institutes of Health helped fund “gain of function research” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China that morphed into the coronavirus — an accusation that Fauci has said is false.

“That is his baby,” Greene said, referring to Fauci. “That is his experiment, and he's getting to watch it in the real world, like on a live television show where he has a front row seat. He gets to watch what happens.”

In remarks last month, Greene made another Nazi-era comparison regarding the coronavirus response, saying people who knock on doors encouraging vaccinations are “medical brown shirts,” referring to the paramilitary organization that helped facilitate the rise of the Nazis and Hitler.
