BLOCK TRUMP STEALING ELECTIONS, STOP THE SAVE ACT & Ex-Arizona lawmaker who questioned election integrity gets probation for using forged signatures 3JUL&6JAN26

DETERMINED to turn our democratic Republic into the fascist heritage foundation's 2025 authoritarian theocratic oligarchy NOT MY pres drumpf/trump, NOT MY vp vance, their corrupt administration and the complicit drumpf/trump-vance ass licking gop/greed over people-republican party controlling congress are holding legislation addressing some of the American housing crisis ( passed with overwhelming bipartisan support ) from becoming law until the "save america act" legislation allowing the drumpf/trump-vance neo-nazi fascist right wing to control elections is passed. Even if it is passed ( it is by the house but not the senate ) it would be illegal as per the US Constitution the states are in charge of all elections in America, not the federal government. Please sign the petition by Demand Progress telling them to reject all versions of the "save act", "the save america act", and every other voter suppression legislation drumpf/trump-vance and their fascist right wing allies may propose. It will help if you also contact your representative and senators yourself, it does make a difference as outlined in this encouraging piece on constituent involvement in government...My e mails will be at the end of this post. From Demand Progress and Courthouse News Service.....

You level the playing field.

Elected officials pay attention when they see that we are paying attention.

They may be hearing from industry lobbyists left and right, but hearing the stories of their constituents — that’s your power.

Our legislators serve at the pleasure of the people who gave them their job — you.

Make sure your elected officials know whose community and whose values they represent. When you contact your elected official, you’re putting a face and a name on an issue.

Whether or not you voted for them, they work for you, for the duration of their term.

Make sure your elected officials know whose community and whose values they represent. (Find your local, state, and federal elected officials.)

TELL Congress: Trump and his MAGA loyalists are holding Congress hostage to pass his extreme voter ID bill, the SAVE America Act. Trump is scrambling after the Supreme Court ruled against him in a voting rights case, labeling all opposition to the bill as "CHEATING!" Sign the petition: Block Trump's SAVE America Act!

Trump went into full attack mode after the Supreme Court ruled against him in a voting rights case yesterday.

He is holding Congress hostage until lawmakers pass his SAVE America Act, an extreme voter ID bill. "There is only one reason to oppose — CHEATING!" Trump ranted on Truth Social.1 His MAGA loyalists in the House refuse to move any legislation forward until the Senate passes one of the worst voter suppression bills in modern history.2

Lawmakers must stand firm against the SAVE America Act and all of Trump's unconstitutional moves to rig the elections.

Sign the petition: Reject Trump's authoritarian SAVE America Act and protect our elections!

Under Trump’s bill, people can’t register to vote or update their registrations without a passport or original birth certificate — documents that 21 million people don’t have ready access to. Tens of millions of women who’ve changed their last names after marriage and may not have a passport or birth certificate with their current last name could be effectively disenfranchised.

And every single voter would need to show a government-issued photo ID with an up-to-date address and current name before casting a ballot.3

Trump and his allies use his far-right conspiracies that the 2020 election was stolen from him because of "mass noncitizen voting" to justify passing the SAVE America Act. It's all made up to rig the midterms and pass his authoritarian policies.

MAGA's election scheme is coming to a head — lawmakers must take urgent steps to protect our voting rights.

Sign the petition: Urge Congress to block Trump’s move to steal the 2026 midterms. Stand up to Trump and stop the SAVE America Act!

Thanks for taking action,

Ex-Arizona lawmaker who questioned election integrity gets probation for using forged signatures

Austin Smith previously portrayed the allegations against him as a coordinated attack by Democrats that was “silly on its face.”

 / January 6, 2026

PHOENIX (AP) — A former Republican lawmaker who questioned the integrity of Arizona’s elections and served as a leader for the conservative group Turning Point Action was sentenced Tuesday to probation and a five-year ban on running for public office for using nominating petitions that contained forged signatures in a bid to qualify for a 2024 primary election.

Austin Smith, 30, pleaded guilty in mid-November to charges of attempted fraudulent schemes and practices, and illegal signing of election petitions. He had acknowledged trying to use petitions with forged signatures that he knew were false and forging a dead woman’s signature on a nominating petition.

Smith represented an Arizona House district in the Phoenix suburbs for one term before dropping his reelection bid in April 2024 when questions arose about signatures on his nominating petitions.

He resigned at the time as a leader at Turning Point Action, the campaign arm of Turning Point USA, which has become a major force in Arizona Republican politics. His bio page said Smith was approached in 2019 by Turning Point co-founder Charlie Kirk and Tyler Bowyer, another top leader of the group, about launching Turning Point Action. Kurt Altman, Smith’s lawyer, told the judge that his client was mortified by his conduct and will never run for public office again. “He realizes that things got out of hand,” Altman said. “And in today’s political atmosphere, things get out of hand very quickly. He is embarrassed by the lapse in judgment.”

When handing down the sentence, Superior Court Judge Aryeh Schwartz said the offense undermined the integrity of the election process, but also said Smith accepted responsibility for his actions. Smith, who was also fined $5,500 as part of his sentence, declined to address the judge during sentencing. He also declined to comment outside of court when a reporter asked him if he wanted to do so.

The Associated Press left messages for a Turning Point spokesperson. Altman told the judge that Smith has started an agricultural business.

Smith previously portrayed the allegations against him as a coordinated attack by Democrats that was “silly on its face,” but said he would drop out of his reelection campaign to avoid racking up legal bills.

In campaign literature, Smith voiced support for a Republican-backed review of the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County that ultimately ended without producing proof to support President Donald Trump’s false claims of a stolen election. Smith also sponsored an unsuccessful proposal to ban voting by mail and complained in a campaign ad about political elites breaking election laws.

The fascist drumpf/trump-vance administration with most of the congressional fascist gop/greed over people-republican party continues their efforts to replace our democratic Republic with the neo-nazi heritage foundation's project 2025's authoritarian theocratic oligarchy. I expect you to take every action possible to prevent the "save act" or the "save america act" or any other voter suppression legislation they might try to impose from passing in congress. If preventing them from hijacking the 2026 Midterms means the federal government would shut down then do it. We will survive another government shutdown, we probably will not survive this administration's repression and suppression of voting in the 2026 Midterms. Please work with the entire Virginia congressional delegation to defend all Americans voting rights.

Mark your calendars for these two nationwide events 8JUN26

FROM Patriotic Millionaires, information on two nationwide events planned and organized by the loyal opposition to the neo-nazi fascist drumpf/trump-vance administration and the gop/greed over people-republican party. These actions are also being promoted by No Kings, MoveOn, Indivisible, Refuse Fascism just to name a few, check with whatever opposition organization you are involved with or click the links in this e mail.....

We know that summer calendars tend to fill up far too quickly, which is why we wanted to snag two minutes of your time to tell you about two dates you should definitely have marked and saved on your end if you don’t already:

First, on June 14th, No Kings is partnering with the Committee for the First Amendment for Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment event on June 14th! As event organizers put it, “As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we have a choice about what story we tell.” This time, rather than having participants take to the streets, this can be done from the comfort of your home (or favorite community spot or local business!). It’s a 90-minute concert event that will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment—of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest—and how it’s the people’s power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them.

Click here to find a Rise Up, Sing Out event near you.

Then, later in the month, there is another nationwide mobilization effort ahead of planned July 4th celebrations. On June 27th, All Of Us is launching a nationwide campaign for a unifying day of marches, rallies, and protests to reject the whitewashing of our past and future! Event organizers will come together in communities across the country to “repair our history rather than erase it, ensuring America lives up to its foundational ideals for all of us.” It’s up to us to beat back against the oligarchical forces trying to keep us apart. Instead, let’s come together to celebrate all that we are, how far we’ve come, and commit to finishing the work to make America a place where freedom and equality are truly for all.

Click here to learn more about and find an All Of Us event near you.

We can let strongman politics and corruption define the moment. Or we can make the story of America about people coming together to defend our rights and build a future rooted in people power.

Thank you for all you do,

The Patriotic Millionaires

G.O.P. Proposes $1 Billion for Security Improvements in Ballroom Project

NOT MY pres drumpf / trump is a compulsive liar...I am so tired of his greed, his corruption, his lies, narcissism, sociopathy, psychopathy, his repulsive family, his ignorance, hate, bigotry, misogyny, advocacy of violence and his apostasy of Christianity and I believe most Americans are too along with the rest of the world. He is a deranged neo-nazi fascist warmonger rivaling hitler in evil. He said his ballroom would be paid for with donations from his rich friends, now he wants to take at least $1 billion from Americans to pay for it and his corrupt ass licking gop / greed over people-republicans in congress are ready to give it to him. From the New York Times.....

G.O.P. Proposes $1 Billion for Security Improvements in Ballroom Project

Carl Hulse

Reporting from Capitol Hill

Senate Republicans have inserted $1 billion for White House East Wing security enhancements in the immigration enforcement funding bill they hope to rush through Congress this month, setting up a political fight over a ballroom that President Trump has said would be financed with private money.

The leaders of the Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees on Monday released plans for the roughly $70 billion package, which would significantly bolster spending on Immigration and Customs Enforcement and border patrol through the end of Mr. Trump’s term using a party-line legislative process that can skirt a filibuster.

A surprise addition to the measure was the $1 billion proposed by the Judiciary Committee for security work related to Mr. Trump’s East Wing renovation. The measure does not mention the president’s proposed new ballroom, which is being challenged in court, but Mr. Trump has insisted that a main reason for the project is to enhance security.

While the president has previously insisted that the renovation would be funded through private donations, a spokesman on Tuesday said the White House applauded the proposed security funding for a “long overdue” project.

Mr. Trump and congressional Republicans have escalated their efforts to defend the project after the attempted assault late last month at a journalism gala in Washington attended by the president.

The bill says the public money would be directed to “security adjustments and upgrades, including within the perimeter fence of the White House compound to support enhancements by the Secret Service relating to the East Wing Modernization Project, including above-ground and below-ground security features.” It also bars any of the funding being spent on “non-security elements.”

But Democrats pounced on the proposal, signaling that they intended to make the ballroom a centerpiece of their opposition to the measure and their election-year message that the president and his party were not meeting voters’ needs.

“Republicans are on a different planet than American families,” Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic minority leader, said in a post on social media. “Republicans looked at families drowning in bills and decided what they really needed was more raids and a Trump ballroom.”

Top Democrats also noted that consideration of the bill would put all senators on the record on a White House construction project that polls have shown to be unpopular.

“Just flagging that now everyone gets an up or down vote on the ballroom,” Senator Brian Schatz, Democrat of Hawaii, said on social media.

Should the provision survive and be enacted into law, it could clear away legal obstacles to construction of the ballroom, which a federal judge has ruled requires congressional approval.

Republicans are advancing the legislation outside of normal congressional spending channels because Senate Democrats had blocked money for ICE and the border control in a dispute over the tactics and conduct of federal immigration officers. That fight shut down parts of the Department of Homeland Security for almost 80 days.

“The Senate Judiciary Committee is taking action to help provide certainty for federal law enforcement and safer streets for American families,” Senator Charles E. Grassley, Republican of Iowa and the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said in a statement. “We will work to ensure this critical funding gets signed into law without unnecessary delay.”

After the attack at the journalism dinner last month, some congressional Republicans proposed that the ballroom be paid for with $400 million in federal money, with private donations to be used for extras such as china. Democrats quickly made clear that they would not support that effort, leaving the potential funding uncertain.

On Tuesday, Davis Ingle, the White House spokesman, cited the recent incident in praising the security funding in the bill.

“As President Trump has repeatedly said, the White House must be a safe and secure complex that generations of future presidents and visitors to the people’s house can enjoy,” he said.

Republicans had pushed for the bill to be kept free of any proposals not directly tied to the immigration crackdown to make it easier to push through rapidly to meet the president’s June 1 deadline, but evidently chose to make an exception in the case of the White House project.

The Judiciary Committee measure would provide about $39 billion and the homeland security measure another $32.5 billion for hiring, training and equipping new immigration enforcement officers and purchasing and employing new border control technology, including artificial intelligence. The homeland security secretary would receive $5 billion in a flexible fund and the legislation includes $1.4 billion for the Justice Department. None of the spending would be offset with cuts elsewhere.

Senator Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican who leads the Homeland Security Committee, has been resistant to surges in new spending but said he is backing the funding push because of Democratic recalcitrance.

“Senate Democrats refuse to vote for a single dollar to secure our borders or enforce our immigration laws, even against the most violent illegal aliens,” Mr. Paul said in a statement. “To make sure those vital functions are funded, my committee will vote later this month to give the funding needed.”

Republicans can ultimately pass the spending if they hold together, but Democrats are expected to try to make it as difficult as they can by subjecting Republicans to politically tough votes six months out from the midterm elections.

“Republicans are in danger of losing control of Congress in November, so they are going outside the usual bipartisan appropriations process to fund these unpopular policies through the end of the Trump administration,” Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, said in a statement.

South Carolina lawmaker in jail on child sex abuse material charges resigns from office & West Columbia Man Indicted for Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material 12AUG & 12JUN25

SC Rep. RJ May accused of distributing child sexual abuse material

ANOTHER gop / greed over people-republican party government official, one who backed drag show and trans healthcare bans in South Carolina, has been arrested on child porn charges. It is no longer surprising when one of them is arrested for this but it is still disgusting. You know he is a drumpf / trump-vance magat cultist...From PBS  and the US Attorney's Office, District South Carolina.....

South Carolina lawmaker in jail on child sex abuse material charges resigns from office

Aug 12, 2025 2:16 PM EDT

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina Republican lawmaker in jail awaiting trial on charges he distributed sexual abuse material involving children has resigned his seat in the state House.

RJ May’s resignation letter was dated Thursday but didn’t arrive at the offices of House leadership until Monday morning.

May wrote that “it is in the best interests of my family and constituents to resign immediately.” It does not mention the 10 charges he faces or the more than a decade in prison that prosecutors have suggested May could face if convicted.

The return address on the letter was May’s Lexington post office box. He is currently being held at the Edgefield County jail without bond as he awaits trial as soon as next month.

May’s federal public defender did not respond to an email Monday.

The three-term Republican is accused of using the screen name “joebidennnn69” to exchange 220 different files of toddlers and young children involved in sex acts on the Kik social media network for about five days in spring 2024, according to court documents that graphically detailed the videos.

The files were uploaded and downloaded using May’s home Wi-Fi network and his cellphone, prosecutors said. Some were hidden by the use of a private network but others were directly linked to his internet addresses.

At his arraignment, May’s lawyer suggested someone could have used the Wi-Fi password that was shown on a board behind a photo May’s wife may have posted online.

Each of the 10 charges carries a five-to-20-year prison sentence upon conviction.

Calls for May’s resignation were nearly unanimous in the South Carolina House, including members who were most closely aligned with May as he helped found the Freedom Caucus of the chamber’s most conservative members. The House Ethics Committee last month started an investigation that appeared to be the first step in trying to kick May out of the House.

May worked as a political consultant. He was elected in 2020 and in his five years in the House upset many mainstream Republicans as he continued to run campaigns for people looking to knock out incumbents in GOP primaries.

The timing of May’s resignation should allow his replacement to be chosen in a special election before the 2026 General Assembly session starts in January.

West Columbia Man Indicted for Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A federal grand jury in Greenville returned a 10-count indictment against Robert John May III, 38, of West Columbia, for distributing child sexual abuse material.*

According to court documents and statements made in court, in April 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber-tip from the social messaging app Kik. Kik flagged several videos from the username “joebidennnn69” as containing child sexual abuse. Investigators connected the account to the home IP address and mobile device of May and identified at least 10 videos depicting child sexual abuse that were shared from the account.

May faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison with a minimum of five years, a fine of $250,000, and a term of at least five years of supervised release to follow any term of imprisonment.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals, who sexually exploit children, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit http://www.justice.gov/psc.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations.  Assistant U.S. Attorneys Scott Matthews and Dean Secor are prosecuting the case with Austin M. Berry of the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation & Obscenity Section.

All charges in the indictment are merely accusations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The term “child pornography” is currently used in federal statutes and is defined as any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a person less than 18 years old. While this phrase still appears in federal law, “child sexual abuse material” is preferred, as it better reflects the abuse that is depicted in the images and videos and the resulting trauma to the child. The Associated Press Stylebook also discourages the use of the phrase “child pornography.”
