Act Now in Honor of Aurora Families 2OKT12

MASS SHOOTINGS have continued since the tragedy at Aurora, Colorado just a few of months ago. Oak Grove, WI and Minneapolis, MN were just a couple that made national news, but families and communities are suffering because the nra has the money from the gun industry to operate a nefarious propaganda campaign against common sense gun control and politicians are so cowardly they will not legislate the common sense gun controls that would help prevent some of this violence (though they do protect themselves by outlawing weapons in the government facilities where they work. Check this out from Tom and Caren Teves, parents of Alex Teves, one of the murder victims killed in Aurora on 20JUL12 and click the link to send a letter to Jim Lehrer, moderator of the presidential debate in Denver on 3OKT12 to ask the candidates what they plan to do about the growing gun violence in the US, and then share with your family and friends.

Our son Alex was gunned-down at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado last July. He was doing what many young people do on weekends...he went to the movies.
Alex graduated from the University of Denver, just a month before being killed in the theater. In a public memorial service, he was honored just last month by the University’s president, chancellor and staff.
The University of Denver is also the site of the first presidential debate on Wednesday night. We have joined with other family members who lost loved ones in that attack—those of AJ Boik, Jonathan Blunk, Gordon Cowden, Jessica Ghawi, Matt McQuinn, Micayla Medek and Rebecca Wingo—to respectfully urge debate moderator, Jim Lehrer, to ask the candidates to present their plans to address gun violence.
But we need YOUR help. This is the time. The first presidential debate at the University of Denver is the place.

Make your voice heard!  We ARE better than this!

Mass shootings will happen again. It’s not a matter of if, but when. Thirty-two Americans will be murdered today. We just don’t yet know their names or the families or communities they come from. We must have a national debate on this issue.
We will continue to fight for that America—one where fewer parents ever have to go through the pain of losing a child to gun violence.
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for standing with us. Please call, text, Facebook or e-mail someone you know and get them to take action now!
Sincerely,
Tom and Caren Teves
