Sign the petition: “It is essential that we immortalize President Trump’s likeness on Mount Rushmore” NOT!!! 12JUL25

THIS IS THE ONLY MOUNTAIN DRUMPF / TRUMP SHOULD BE ON!

REP fascist fotze andy ogles r-TN, NOT MY pres drumpf / trump syncophant and ass licker

has written Sec of Interior fascist fotze doug burgum asking him to make arrangements for NOT MY pres drumpf's / trump's face be added to Mount Rushmore. Engineers already considered the possibility of adding another president and determined the remaining space is too small and lacks the structural integrity for another carving. The thought of adding drumpf / trump to Mount Rushmore is obscene, it would be a desecration of this national monument ( but not as bad as Mount Rushmore is desecrating sacred Native American land ) and must be stopped.  Please sign this petition from Demand Progress to congress and e mail your representative and senators demanding they do everything possible to stop this proposal.

TELL CONGRESS: Calls to put Trump on Mount Rushmore are ridiculous, dangerous, and would be a massive waste of taxpayer money — all as Republicans slash healthcare, education, and much more. Sign the petition: Don't put Trump on Mount Rushmore!

Trump loyalist Rep. Andy Ogles wrote to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum recently urging the government to put Trump on Mount Rushmore. After saying the White House is ushering in America’s Golden Age, Ogles added, “it is essential that we immortalize President Trump’s likeness on Mount Rushmore.”1

Just like Trump’s grotesque and wasteful military parade, glorifying a sitting president with national statues and monuments is another step toward authoritarianism.

Sign the petition: Urge Congress to oppose and block funding for putting Trump on Mount Rushmore!

Rep. Ogle’s plan follows Interior Secretary Burgum saying earlier this year that there’s “definitely” room for Trump on Rushmore.2 It also follows the Trump administration’s pattern of anti-democratic actions, like rolling tanks through D.C. to celebrate Trump’s birthday and defying countless court orders.

The drive to put Trump’s face on Mount Rushmore is more disturbing because the monument is built in the Black Hills on unceded Lakota territory — deeply important land that the U.S. government stole from Native Americans.3 And the person who led the construction of Mount Rushmore had ties to the KKK.4

As the White House tries to open up public land for destructive mining and drilling, the Interior Department seems more focused on celebrating Trump than fulfilling its duties to protect public lands.

While unwavering Trump allies in Congress and throughout the federal government scramble to gain favor with the president, our lawmakers must stand against Trump’s wasteful, authoritarian displays.

Sign the petition: Reject calls to put Trump on Mount Rushmore!

Thanks for taking action,

Joey and the Demand Progress team

I expect you to work with the entire Virginia congressional delegation and other representatives and senators to stop this proposal before it starts.
