Arkansas Legislator Vows to ‘Eliminate All the Funding for Public Libraries’ Affiliated With the ALA 28JUN23

THE Christian legislators claim they are passing laws against obscenity is itself obscene because these Christians are promoting and defending their actions and rhetoric with lies. I do not remember Jesus having to lie in his preaching and lessons to justify and verify what he said, how do these Christian legislators justify their lies and deception? Be sure to watch the video below. GOD BLESS OUR LIBRARIANS WHO STAND AGAINST CENSORSHIP!!!!! This from Right Wing Watch.....

Arkansas Legislator Vows to ‘Eliminate All the Funding for Public Libraries’ Affiliated With the ALA

Kyle MantylaBy Kyle Mantyla June 28, 2023 4:00 pm

When the National Association of Christian Lawmakers held its annual conference at Liberty University earlier this month, members of the organization held a “para-legislative session” at which state legislators and religious-right activists proposed and discussed various resolutions and proposed pieces of sample legislation.

Among those participating in this session was Arkansas state Sen. Dan Sullivan, who pledged to use the next state legislative session to strip funding for any library in the state that is affiliated with the American Library Association.

Sullivan has been seeking to cut library funding for a while, and while he has not succeeded in doing so yet, he was still quite pleased with a law that was recently signed by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders that allows for the removal of books and the possible prosecution of librarians for “disseminating a writing, film, slide, drawing, or other visual reproduction that is claimed to be obscene.”

“The libraries are an institution—often like higher ed—that are far left, and they have been a bastion of the left wing,” Sullivan told his fellow NACL members. “They’re the ones holding the drag queen shows. They’re the ones promoting Pride Month. Our county library last year had huge Pride signs and flags and books; this year, they backed that off and had very little because we took their money away.”

“You learn as a legislator really quick, if you want thing to change, take the money,” he added. “I love the libraries. They’re fantastic institutions. They’ve been taken over by the far left, and it’s time for us to take them back.”

“When we come back to session in two years, we’re going to eliminate all the funding for public libraries that have the American Library Association in their policy,” Sullivan vowed. “We’re going to take a shot at them because that’s where it’s coming from.”

This pledge was met with a round of applause from the other NACL attendees.

Are Moms For Liberty Hitler Stans? Could Be! (THEY DID QUOTE HITLER FAVORABLY!!!!!) 22JUN23

Credit: Twitter

QUELLE SUPRISE is right!!!! There neo-nazi fascist Fotzen just tipped their hand, like we didn't know they are extreme, bigoted, ignorant fascist Hundinnen before this faux pas? They are also getting in bed with the proud boys and rfk jr, all known American fascist. This from Crooks & Liars.....

Are Moms For Liberty Hitler Stans? Could Be!

Moms For Liberty, an extremist group, isn't very inclusive as Republicans close the tent to their party and welcome the ladies who are against LGBT rights, race, and critical race theory. Anti-woke Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Meatball) was the keynote speaker at the three-day Moms For Liberty conference in Tampa in 2022.

They aren't fans of President Biden. One chapter chair claimed last month that Biden wants to turn kids gay to hurt conservatives. And just like that, everyone was so gay that rainbows shot of our eyes.

But they do appear to be fans of Adolph Hitler's quotes.

IndyStar reports:

The Hamilton County chapter of Moms for Liberty, a national organization recently listed as an "extremist group" by a civil rights watchdog, introduced its first newsletter Wednesday, The Parent Brigade. Adolf Hitler was quoted on its front cover.

Just below The Parent Brigade's masthead was a quote Hitler used at a Nazi rally in 1935: "He alone, who OWNS the youth, GAINS the future." The pages of the newsletter were posted on the group's Facebook page.

Late Wednesday night, the front page of the newsletter was updated to include what is described as "context" for the Hitler quote.

"The quote from a horrific leader should put parents on alert," the update says. "If the government has control over our children today, they control our country's future. We The People must be vigilant and protect children from an overreaching government."

This is apparently referring to Southern Law Poverty Center designating them as an extremist group.

Below Hitler's words on the original front page appeared a message from Moms for Liberty national co-founders Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, with the headline: "Moms for Liberty will not be intimidated by hate groups!"

No takey backsies:

A more likely scenario is that they added "context" after getting caught quoting Hitler to advance their agenda.

They've made themselves comfortable with other extremist groups.

Dear Conservatives, You don't have a good history with this sort of thing. I think it would be best if you never mentioned Hitler again. RFK Jr. has compared COVID-19 Mask Mandates to Nazi Experiments. You can have him. We don't want him. You're welcome!

THIS WEEK IN CIVIL LIBERTIES from THE ACLU 5OKT12

THIS week in civil liberties from the ACLU includes articles on on line tracking software, police surveillance, Pennsylvania's voter ID law, library censorship, and death row inmates in Louisiana and Texas.....

Who seems terrified about consumers taking control over the privacy of their own online data?
Who among us is being subjected to video surveillance from the comfort and familiarity of our own neighborhoods?  (You may want to take a peek out of your own front window.)
What steamy best-selling novel has spurred the latest challenge over free speech and censorship?
Voters of which state will have one less barrier to face before exercising their right to vote on Election Day?
Which state has freed an innocent man who had been erroneously condemned to death row due to a false confession, and which has upheld a death sentence in another false confession case?
Corporate America: We Want to Track You
On Monday, Microsoft received an outraged letter from the Association of Network Advertisers in response to the company’s May announcement that the default tracking setting of its new browser, IE 10, will be “Do Not Track.”  The letter, which is signed by 36 major corporations including General Mills, American Express, General Motors, Verizon, Visa, Wal-Mart, Bank of America, and many others, insists  the decision to allow users modest controls over the tracking of their online movements is wrong.
Police Cameras Outside Your Door
The ACLU of Michigan recently put out a report focused on a uniquely disturbing application of surveillance cameras: their deployment in residential neighborhoods.  Surveillance units in Lansing provide intrusive 360-degree views and include powerful zoom capabilities.  ACLU of Michigan had an independent researcher look at the impact of the cameras, and the study concluded that African Americans were twice as likely to be under camera surveillance as white residents.  This disproportionate monitoring in a society in which African Americans and other minority groups already feel profiled “only serves to heighten their sense of powerlessness and to foster mistrust of government officials.”
Fifty Shades of Censorship
Earlier this year, the Brevard Public Library in Florida removed 19 copies of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey from circulation on the ground that it is “semi-pornographic.”  In response to such censorship, which violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Section 4 of the Florida Constitution, the ACLU of Florida and the National Coalition against Censorship sent a letter to the county, and local library users successfully demanded that the books be returned to the shelves.  This week, marked the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week; let’s toast our right to free speech.
No Pictures Please: Pennsylvania Voter ID Law Put on Hold
On Tuesday, a Pennsylvania state judge delayed the implementation of the state’s voter ID law until after the general election.  That law had threatened to disenfranchise thousands of elderly residents, students, the homeless and communities of color this November, and the ACLU of Pennsylvania represented numerous voters who had difficulty obtaining photo ID.  This Election Day, voters can still be asked for photo ID, but those without it will be allowed to vote without restriction and receive information about the law and how to get approved ID.  Previously, voters who lacked ID would have been given a provisional ballot and would then have six days in which to produce an acceptable ID in order for their vote to be counted.
A Good Ride from Death Row
Texas Court Upholds Death Sentence of Innocent Man Although "There is Something Very Wrong" with Case Against Him
Recently, two death penalty cases built on false confessions had very different results.  In a Louisiana victory, Damon Thibodeaux walked off death row after 16 years of imprisonment for a crime he didn't commit – the 141st person to be exonerated after being sentenced to death.  In Texas, Max Soffar has been moved one step closer to execution, even though three judges from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals admitted that there was something "very wrong" with the case against him.  False confessions may be difficult for many people to comprehend, but cases are well documented, and in the Soffar case, little more than one year after the execution of Troy Davis, our system moves closer to another miscarriage of justice.
