BIG UPDATE! Hawaii's progressive Attorney General Doug Chin just kicked off the national court battle over Trump's new Muslim ban.
A federal judge will hear the case next Wednesday -- one day before the new ban is set to go into effect.
CNN reports that the White House is already fighting back, trying to quash this challenge in federal court.

MONDAY'S EMAIL:
Trump just signed a new Muslim ban -- with no media cameras present, to reduce accountability.
The White House has already admitted this new ban will have "mostly minor technical differences" from the original ban and achieve "the same basic policy outcome."
This new Executive Order is more carefully written that the last one. So, fighting it will be even harder than before.
The front lines of defense will be the courts and our protests across the nation.
Last week, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow broke big news: A non-public Department of Homeland Security report found that “citizenship in any given country – including the countries listed in the executive order – is likely an unreliable indicator of whether someone poses a terrorist threat.”
Meaning: The rationale for the Muslim ban is bogus, and the Trump administration knows it and is hiding it from the public.
The ACLU will need to pour major resources into this fight. So will Democratic Attorneys General across the nation -- and they will need to fend off attacks from right-wing interests targeting them for defeat in 2018 and 2020.
