Disturbed "The Sound Of Silence" 28MAR16 & Disturbed - The Sound Of Silence [Official Music Video]

THE SOUND OF SILENCE. Paul Simon never said what the song meant for him after he wrote it but it was adopted as a clarion call to action against racism, war and the divisive politics of the day. It was 1964 and the country was reeling from the assassination of JFK and sharply divided over civil rights and the Vietnam war, and anti-war activist and environmentalist used to song through the late 60's and early 70's urging people to speak up and act for peace in Vietnam and for protecting the environment. Disturbed's version is the most powerful since the remix was released in 1965. Here is their performance on Conan followed by the official album video. Both are beautiful, I can't choose a favorite. I do feel the timing of this new release couldn't be better considering the state our country is in now. With (NOT MY) pres drumpf/trump in office and the alt-right fascist players in his administration silence is the last thing we need....
