TSUNAMI TO END INDEFINITE DETENTION 29NOV12

THE vote on the NDAA ( see my earlier post at NDAA Vote This Week: Tell Senate to end indefinite detention 28NOV12
) will probably happen today and there is an amendment on indefinite detention that must be included. If you haven't contacted your Senators demanding they support amendments eliminating indefinite detention please do so now using the links below....
We just heard from a Senate ally who told us that there's probably a vote TOMORROW (that's Thursday).
Sorry to bombard you with emails tonight, but there's extraordinary urgency now.
Will you help us create a social media tsunami in opposition to indefinite detention?
We built out two social media tools to help us win this fight:
The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act allowed the United States military to detain civilians indefinitely and without charge or trial -- even American citizens.
The Senate is taking up the 2013 NDAA this week.  Several senators are poised to put forth amendments to revoke or narrow the indefinite detention powers that we've been fighting so hard over the last year.
Moments ago The Huffington Post reported on the amendment that's being offered by a bipartisan group of 11 senators:
"Declaring that a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 put the country on a path to repeat the shame of World War II's internment camps, they argued the offending language should be stricken in this year's defense bill."
We need to get the backs of these courageous senators.
Please use our social media tools to help spread word about indefinite detention and pressure the Senate to reverse it:
This is still a heavy lift, and we need to organize on every front that's available to us.  Please help us bring as much pressure as possible to bear on the Senate.
-Demand Progress.
