It is shameful that the same politicians and their allies, usually "religious" leaders, rant and rail against birth control and so demand women have children they can not afford. These same people also demand draconian cuts and outright elimination of the very social safety net programs that provide much needed services and support for children and their families. Their hypocrisy of claiming to value life and then to demand the least among us be left to fend for themselves is outrageous and disgusting. The voters of Mississippi saw through the propaganda and hypocrisy of the "personhood" amendment and rejected it on November 8th. Pres Obama must stand up for women's rights and to reject any and all legislation that will revoke birth control coverage with no co-pays. Click the link to send your message to the President...

Anti-women's health groups and their allies on Capitol Hill are putting increasing pressure on President Obama. They want to overturn new regulations that require insurance coverage for birth control with no co-pays.
They want to block access to birth control for millions of women and they want President Obama to help them do it. The women who are impacted by this continuing assault on birth control coverage are real women; hard-working nurses, teachers, and college students. It's up to us to make sure the president stands strong. Tell him to reject demands to eliminate the birth control coverage requirement.
We know who our opponents are and what they're after. They don't want women to have access to birth control — it's as simple as that.
President Obama should reject their demands. He should listen to the doctors and nurses who know that access to birth control is essential to women's health. He should listen to the millions of women who rely on birth control to manage their health, plan their families, and control their futures. He should listen to you — and I believe he will. But he can't do that if you don't speak up.
Take a moment right now to ask President Obama to stand strong and protect women's access to birth control with no co-pays.
This is a battle we shouldn't have to keep fighting. It took months — years — of hard work to secure insurance coverage for birth control under health care reform. And with your help, we won a huge victory for women. But anti-women's health members of Congress and their allies haven't given up. They're still working day and night to deny women access to birth control.
The unrelenting actions of anti-women's health extremists this year show just how important it is for people like you and me to stand up and stand strong every single day. We need everyone — Republican, Independent, and Democrat — to let President Obama know that we stand with him now, and that we expect him to stand with women. It's time for the president to listen to you and me. Please join me in asking President Obama to stand strong for the millions of working women and their families who would be hurt if this coverage is taken away.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of Planned Parenthood and the women, men, and teens who rely on us to protect their access to affordable health care. |
