TAKE ACTION! Tell the White House: Stop Dangerous and Deadly Policy Riders on the Budget Bill!
	Please tell Pres. Obama to push strongly against any efforts to inject harmful environmental policy riders into the budget bill! Call the White House today (202-456-1111), or send a letter!
As you may know, negotiators from both chambers of Congress, both parties, and the White House are deep in talks about what it will take to reach a compromise on the federal budget bill and avoid a government shutdown. News reports indicate that Tea Party freshmen and House Republican leaders are pushing the Senate and the White House to accept harmful environmental policy riders on the back of the budget bill. These riders would block clean air and clean water protections and prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from carrying out pollution safeguards that protect us all. Press reports yesterday (March 30) indicated that the White House may cave to the House’s demands on riders. Today in response, the White House said that it opposes these riders. But Sen. Harry Reid has said that he is already considering such ideological policy riders. This is one compromise that just cannot be allowed to happen! The President has the power to stop these deadly negotiations. He must not only oppose such a toxic bargain but he must prevent it! Call the White House now and tell President Obama to push strongly against these efforts by the Tea Party extreme to inject harmful and ideological policy riders into a budget bill. Tell the President to stand strong and just say "No!" to any policy riders on this spending bill. And finally, tell the President that, if those riders make their way into any final bill, he must show his opposition and veto that bill!
