The Virginia Education Association, representing 60,000 teachers across the Commonwealth, has endorsed my five-point plan for helping public schools. The VEA's support is powerful evidence of my commitment to protecting and improving our education system.
I am proud to say that our campaign has also earned the endorsement of the Virginia Police Benevolent Association and the Southern States Police Benevolent Association. The support of this organization, representing 22,000 police officers across the South, adds great strength to our campaign. Together, we're going to work to make sure that our law enforcement professionals have the tools and the resources they need to keep our communities safe.
Protecting the safety of our neighborhoods and the quality of our schools isn't a Democratic idea or a Republican idea - it's just the right thing to do. That's why it's so upsetting that, earlier this year, Frank Wolf voted to send thousands of Virginia teachers, policemen, and firemen to the unemployment lines. Times are tough right now, but there are some things we can't afford to lose.
I'm standing with the Virginia Education Association, The Police Benevolent Association, and hundreds of volunteers to make sure we have a congressman who will keep police officers in our neighborhoods and teachers in the classrooms. We only have 25 days left to get the job done. Do you have a few minutes to help?
We're going to be talking to thousands of voters this weekend, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved!

Jeff Barnett
