FROM EARTHJUSTICE: TAKE ACTION: Don't let polluters roll back environmental protections 29OKT17

EARTHJUSTICE continues to receive 4 stars (highest ranking) on the Charity Navigator website. Their mission statement explains what they do best. Earthjustice is a public interest law firm dedicated to protecting the magnificent places, natural resources, and wildlife of this earth and to defending the right of all people to a healthy environment. We bring about far-reaching change by enforcing and strengthening environmental laws on behalf of hundreds of organizations, coalitions and communities. Established as the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund in 1971, Earthjustice has a legal staff of more than 50 in eight offices around the country. Earthjustice uses federal and state environmental laws to protect the environment by taking government agencies to court for failing to enforce our nation's environmental laws, and corporations for breaking them. Earthjustice does this work on behalf of hundreds of community and environmental groups, providing legal services free of charge.
Here are a few of the actions they are involved in now, click on the links and make your voice heard on these important environmental issues and if you are able make a donation (I have been a monthly donor for a few years), no amount is too small, because the Earth does need good lawyers, especially now.

“We must preserve what’s left for our survival and that of our children and grandchildren.”
Earthjustice

Polluters are pushing hard to roll back environmental protections and take away our public lands for personal profit, but Earthjustice supporters continue to fight back, standing up for their rights and urging decision-makers to do what is best for the environment and the health of their constituents:
“Please stop the pollution of our land! We want to leave a clean world for our children and grandchildren!”
“The 'P' in EPA stands for protection. Protect us, EPA, that’s all you have to do.”
“Please end the disruption of natural habitats and the pollution of our public lands for profit.”
Here are a few opportunities to make your voice heard:

Stop waste and pollution on our public landsWhen oil and gas sites are spewing toxic pollution and climate-harming methane, the solution is not to give them license to pollute more. Tell the Bureau of Land Management to enforce a commonsense safeguard that requires oil and gas companies to find and fix leaks, and to reduce venting and flaring from their operations, on public and tribal lands.

Give our kids the clean ride they deserveVolkswagen was caught cheating federal emissions tests, and are now paying a $14.7 billion settlement. We’re demanding your governor use tens of millions of dollars your state will receive from the VW settlement to upgrade their aging fleet of toxic diesel school buses to zero-emissions electric buses.

Ask the EPA to not repeal the Clean Power PlanScott Pruitt has begun the process of repealing the Clean Power Plan, which places first-ever limits on the huge quantities of carbon pollution emitted by our country’s electric power plants.
