These "family values" politicians claiming Christianity as their faith and as the justification for legislating morality to control the public at large can't keep their penises in their pants, and then blame the victims when they are caught acting on their lust! Missouri senators resign after scandals, Republicans propose fix—modest dress code for interns

In May, Missouri House Speaker John Diehl resigned after revelations he had a "sexually charged relationship" with a college freshman who was interning in a Missouri Capitol internship program. He was, of course, one of those "family values" conservatives. A mere two months later, Missouri Senator Paul Levota abruptly resigned after revelations he sexually harassed two female interns.
Now the Missouri Republicans are scrambling to come up with a new internship policy. Rather than focusing on getting their own members to behave professionally with young staffers, as they would in any business setting, the Missouri GOP seems hellbent on reeling in those interns who cause so much trouble. Among their recommendations? Stricter dress codes for interns:

Rep. Bill Kidd, an Independence Republican, responded almost immediately with the suggestion that an intern dress code was needed. He was seconded by Republican Rep. Nick King of Liberty. “We need a good, modest, conservative dress code for both the males and females,” King wrote in an email to colleagues. “Removing one more distraction will help everyone keep their focus on legislative matters.”

Face. Palm. Yes, if only those vixen interns weren't distracting these good, Christian, family values Republicans from their jobs. And while there were some good suggestions to prevent public, embarrassing, career-ending implosions, there is far too much blame on the young interns. The Missouri Republicans should start with some basic common sense. For instance, don't be a creep and send sexually explicit text messages to a college freshman who is younger than your own children. Because...well, gross. Secondly, ewwww. 'Patriot' guarding 'Muslim free' gun store accidentally shoots himself

A "patriot" accidentally shot himself outside the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store in Oktaha, Oklahoma.

The Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store and gun range has had a string of ugly incidents after declaring they are "Muslim free":

“We do not want to have any jihadis training on our gun range and then going down to our local armed services office and having better marksmanship than they showed up with,” said Neal, an Iraq War veteran. “I’ve seen what Muslims and jihadis do to people. It’s just not going to happen in my store.”

Several residents of tiny Oktaha, Oklahoma (population 390) have turned out to stand in front of the store and guard it with loaded weapons. Yesterday, one of these men accidentally shot himself while "on guard":

A Checotah man shot himself in the wrist while "defending" a survival gear store and shooting range in Oktaha, said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson. Terrence Veninga, 57, was volunteering Tuesday morning as an armed guard with several other self-described patriots at the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store and gun range, a self-professed Muslim-free store.
His gun, an old Colt .45 revolver, fell from its bucket holster and discharged. The bullet hit him in the wrist, Pearson said. Veninga was guarding the store because of alleged threats against it, Pearson said.

Complicating matters even more for the "patriots," a U.S. war veteran, who is also a practicing Muslim, showed up to challenge their policy:

“They just said, ‘This is private property. You are not allowed here,’” Martin explained. Martin said that once the men learned he was a veteran, they said he was allowed on the gun range.
“They’re saying now it’s just [banning] someone who’s an extremist or terrorist,” Martin said.
Martin drove from California to confront the owners after he heard of their sign. He said he hopes his showing up sparks conversation on discrimination.

So, in one short day, one of the men shot himself and they were forced to back down from the policy after a veteran showed up to challenge it.
