Image result for logo league of conservation votersLCV Victory Fund
THE LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS has been working educate the electorate in swing states and in all states across the country on the importance of electing a president as well as senators and representatives who will lead the country in dealing with climate change and protecting the agencies and regulations that protect our environment and so protect us. Please consider making a donation to the slate of candidates supported by the +League of Conservation Voters , I have a few times. It isn't how much you donate,  but that you do, because the 2016 elections are so critical for the future of our nation. There is an update on the LCV Dirty Dozen list following the e mail.....

Are you registered to vote? Yes / No / Don’t Know
BREAKING: New polls show the Trump-effect seriously swinging down-ticket races. We have to jump on this — contributions are being triple matched right now — can you help us expand to win even more races?

As Trump’s rift with Republican leaders grows, new races are suddenly in play.

Must-Win House Races:
Colorado 6thtoo close to call
Minnesota 2ndtoo close to call
Nevada 4thtoo close to call

Donate today and your contribution will be tripled »

This is huge — in the final weeks of the election, Trump’s rift with Republican leaders is changing down ticket races in ways that no oneexpected.

Races where environmental candidates had been trailing climate change deniers for months are suddenly in play.

Some sources are saying that control of the House could flip to a pro-environment majority.

Our campaign director just laid out a “go big” strategy to expand into must-win congressional races like those in Colorado, Minnesota, and Nevada, but here’s the thing:

Tomorrow morning, our campaigns team is meeting to assess projected revenue, and right now we are $30,000 short of this week’s budget goals. If everyone pitched in we’d hit that goal immediately.

A group of donors will triple every contribution. Can you let us know if you’re on board before tomorrow

As donors with ties to big polluters turn away from the presidential race, serious resources are pouring into close Senate and House races for the final weeks of the election.

The only way we can fully ramp up in must-win House races like in Colorado, Nevada, and Minnesota — the only way we can go big — is if we hit our $30,000 goal by tomorrow.

This is a critical moment, we’ve got to act now to expand the map — we can’t afford to just play it safe. Are you with us?

If your answer is “yes” — then we really need your help. A group of donors is tripling every contribution right now — can you let us know if you’re on board before tomorrow?

You’re awesome and I want you to know we really couldn’t pull any of this off without folks like you.

Sincerely,
Kristin

P.S. By the way, the candidates we’re targeting in these must-win House races in CO, MN, and NV have such bad environmental records that we’ve named them to our Dirty Dozen list. So when we say must-win, we really mean it! Please, chip in today.

For 20 years, the Dirty Dozen has targeted candidates— regardless of party affiliation — who consistently side against the environment and are running in races in which LCV has a serious chance to affect the outcome. Last cycle, LCV defeated seven of the 12 Dirty Dozen candidates. In the last presidential year of 2012, LCV defeated 11 of 12.

JUST RELEASED: LCV's 2015 National Environmental Scorecard 24FEB16

WANT to know how your elected officials rate on the environment? Check them out on the League of Conservation Voter's 2015 Environmental Scorecard.....
League of Conservation Voters
Find out if your senators stood up for the environment or fell way short — and check out how your representative did, too! Visit our newly released 2015 National Environmental Scorecard »

LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard is here! See how your members of Congress did in 2015 »
The 2015 National Environmental Scorecard numbers have been crunched, tallied, and posted. Let’s be honest: It wasn’t pretty.

This past year, the new Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wasted no time getting to work on behalf of his polluter allies, pushing through legislation to approve the Keystone XL pipeline as his first order of business. And by the end of the year we can say with confidence that the extreme leadership of both the Senate and the House had made this the most anti-environmental Congress in our nation’s history.

We scored 60 votes — the most we have ever included! Here are just five of the votes we saw in the Senate — click one of the links below then search for your senators’ names to see how they voted:

  1. Blocking the biggest step the United States has taken to fight climate change: Just months after President Obama and the EPA finalized the Clean Power Plan, Congress used an extreme and rarely used legislative maneuver to try and permanently block it. See if your senators stood in the way of the biggest step our country’s ever taken on climate change.
  2. Extreme Attacks on Drinking Water Protections: This vote sought to permanently void the EPA’s new drinking water protections for millions of Americans. See if your senators stood up for clean drinking water.
  3. Acknowledging Climate Change: This amendment called on Congress to acknowledge the reality of man-made climate change and take action to cut carbon pollution. See if your senators accept the reality of climate change.
  4. Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline: This vote tried to automatically approve the dirty and dangerous Keystone XL pipeline. See if your senators voted to transport the world’s dirtiest oil through America’s heartland.
  5. Reauthorizing the Land and Water Conservation Fund: This vote would have reauthorized LWCF, America’s premier conservation program. See if your senators took a stand to protect our public lands.
The whole 2015 National Environment Scorecard is also available in Spanish!

The first step to getting more environmental policies passed is letting our members of Congress know that we’re paying attention, and that’s exactly what LCV’s Scorecard has done since 1970. Help us continue this important work with a special Scorecard gift of $5 »

CORY GARDNER, ONE REALLY BAD EGG IN THE LVC'S DIRTY DOZEN 24APR14

League of Conservation Voters Action Fund
SEN MARK UDALL D CO has been endorsed by the LVC / League of Conservation voters for reelection. His challenger, rep cory gardner r tb CO, is the kind of congressman who has been paid for by the koch brothers and the big oil and gas lobbies. He is not representing the best interest of the people of Colorado as a representative in congress, instead he kow-tows to the demands of the corporate interest as payback for the $450,000+ he has already received from them. These are the same corporations and politicians who have weakened the EPA and state environmental regulatory agencies so that environmental disasters like the chemical spill in the Kanawah River and the coal ash spill in the Dan River were made not only possible but likely. cory gardner will do nothing to prevent a similar environmental disaster from occurring in your community. If you can please make a donation to LVC's Action Fund (no amount is too small, I donated $5.00) to provide the financial support Sen Mark Udall and those like him the means to defeat the koch brothers and the the big oil and gas industries.

Cory Gardner "Wrong Way" Ad

Since we named climate change-denying Senate candidate Cory Gardner to the Dirty Dozen last week -- and LCV launched a TV ad highlighting his ties with Big Oil -- he has come back with a fierce attack on us and Senator Mark Udall. Gardner called us an “extreme organization” and issued a challenge to Senator Udall to return the campaign contributions we’ve given to him because they have “rewarded him for his unwavering loyalty” to his commitment to conservation. (Uh yeah, we know he’s been loyal -- Senator Udall has a 97% lifetime environmental score!)
Clearly we’ve made Congressman Gardner nervous and he thinks that attacking Senator Udall’s amazing record of standing up for our environment will win him points. Let’s show him he’s wrong -- that Senator Udall’s support for our environment will help him win the support of Colorado voters, and that Congressman Gardner’s history of denying climate change science, siding with oil companies, and voting against our environment will be his undoing.

The race between our ally Senator Mark Udall and climate change denier Cory Gardner is way too close and the Koch brothers are already pouring money into Colorado.
Cory Gardner
What’s that we hear? A climate change denier is challenging one of our biggest allies in the Senate? And the race is already within just a few points?
We are so IN!
We’ve just added Congressman Cory Gardner to the Dirty Dozen -- that means we’re going to take on this polluter-funded Senate candidate and we’re not going to stop until he’s defeated.
We’re putting everything we’ve got into this race to make sure that this climate change denier can’t even get close to unseating our ally Senator Mark Udall in his reelection campaign.
It’s not going to be easy -- early polling shows that the race is neck-and-neck. When it’s this close this early, the only way to win is to start working immediately, but we need your help to do that.
We can’t wait to act on this. The Koch brothers certainly aren’t. Their front group, Freedom Partners, has just dumped $1.1 million into TV ads in Colorado and Iowa.
Gardner has gotten more than $450,000 in contributions from the oil and gas industry. And it’s clear as day why they’re so invested in this race. Gardner has repeatedly sided with Big Oil by voting against eliminating billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded subsidies to the nation’s most profitable oil companies. He even signed a pledge on tax policy that would protect these billions in Big Oil handouts!
And Gardner isn’t just an ally of the dirty energy industry when it comes to subsidies. He has also repeatedly denied the overwhelming scientific consensus that humans are the driving force behind climate change. His atrocious voting record across the board on the environment has earned him a pitiful 9% lifetime score on our National Environmental Scorecard. Make a gift now to help us defeat him >>
Can you imagine what damage it would do if this climate change denier unseated Senator Mark Udall, who has earned an amazing 97% lifetime environmental score?
We CANNOT lose this race. We HAVE to get boots on the ground now to get the word out about Cory Gardner’s extreme positions -- but it takes resources to make sure we can knock on enough doors, make enough phone calls, and get neighbors talking to neighbors so we can turn out an environmental majority this election.
Our Dirty Dozen program targets candidates for Congress -- regardless of party affiliation -- who consistently side against the environment and are running in races in which LCV has a serious chance to affect the outcome. Last cycle, we defeated 11 of the 12 candidates on the Dirty Dozen.
I know we can have that same success this year. But with races starting out as close as this one, we will have to fight tooth and nail to come out on top.
So thanks for chipping in today to make sure we can start our first Senate Dirty Dozen campaign off strong.
Best,
Gene

LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS 2012 SCORECARD 20FEB13

THE LCV has released it's Environmental Scorecard on the 112th Congress, and I have to agree with their comment, at least it is over. Click on the interactive map and links to see how your congressional delegation rates.....

Map cob3.jpg

Today is a big day for us. Not only are we releasing the 2012 National Environmental Scorecard, but we're also unveiling a completely new, interactive Scorecard website, where you can see all the votes we've scored going back more than 40 years.
Right now, I'm about to jump on a call to share this news with the national press, but I wanted to make sure that LCV members like you got an exclusive look at our new site before anyone else lays eyes on it.

Find out where your members of Congress stood on the most important environmental votes of the year. Explore LCV's 2012 National Environmental Scorecard on our new website here >>
Unfortunately the best thing that can be said about this session of the 112th Congress is that it's over.
This was hands down, the most anti-environmental House of Representatives ever. Continuing their bad record from 2011, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) forced through radical bills attacking cornerstone environmental laws such as the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. They pushed to drill off our shores and in the Arctic Refuge, tried to approve the harmful Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, and attacked protections for our national parks, forests, and wildlife.
If it wasn't for our champions in the U.S. Senate and the Obama Administration, many of the environmental and public health safeguards we rely on would have been lost.
Want to know if your members of Congress stood with people or polluters last year? Take a look at the 2012 National Environmental Scorecard here.
The good news is: if we can educate the public about anti-environmental legislators' records, we can build the public pressure to hold them accountable and improve our environmental policies in the years to come.
So that's why we've completely overhauled our Scorecard website to make it easier for you to access and share the information not just from this year, but every year since the National Environmental Scorecard was first released in 1971.
On our new website you can not only read about the votes and check out the scores for your members of Congress, but you can also see how your state's congressional delegation has voted compared to the rest of the country using interactive charts and maps. You can look at votes taken over the years on just one issue like clean energy or climate change. And we've built in share features that make it easy to spread the word on social media or send a message to your members of Congress to thank or reprimand them depending on their vote history.
I hope you'll take a moment to explore and share our new National Environmental Scorecard website today at: scorecard.lcv.org
Thanks for helping us make a major splash with this release by getting the word out today.

Best,
