Jost opened with a smirk, saying, "T.r.u.m.p’s the only guy who claims to be a billionaire but keeps crowdfunding his bail". The jokes hit hard — and apparently, they hit T.r.u.m.p harder than anyone expected.
According to insiders, T.r.u.m.p went ballistic after watching the live broadcast, shouting at aides and demanding that his legal team "find a way to cancel SNL". One Mar-a-Lago source described the scene as "total meltdown — yelling, pacing, phones flying, pure chaos"
Within minutes, T.r.u.m.p was reportedly flooding Truth Social with angry all-caps posts calling Jost "a talentless hack" and claiming the show was "part of a Democrat smear campaign". Meanwhile, the clip exploded across the internet, racking up millions of views and sending #SNLtrending worldwide.

The attack took place when the child was home alone, prosecutors said. The accused assailant, Sgt. Andrew LaBruno, ran unsuccessfully for the New Jersey State Legislature this year.
A New Jersey police sergeant and former mayor has been charged with sexually assaulting a child who was “mentally incapacitated” at the time, according to county prosecutors.
The officer, Sgt. Andrew LaBruno of the Jersey City Police Department, was arrested on Monday and faces charges of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a Tuesday news release from Mark Musella, the Bergen County prosecutor. The victim’s name, age and gender have not been released.
Sergeant LaBruno, who lives in Dumont, N.J., where he served as mayor from 2020 to 2023, initially made contact with the child on social media, prosecutors said. “On or about” Monday, he visited the child’s home in nearby Englewood when the child was alone, according to prosecutors.
At the home, Sergeant LaBruno, 44, sprayed an “unknown substance” into his hand, which he placed over the child’s nose and mouth, making the child dizzy, according to court documents. He then forced the child to perform a sex act, the documents said.
The victim was taken to a medical facility after “a member of the public” called 911, according to the documents. The child’s condition remained unclear on Wednesday.
Sergeant LaBruno has been suspended without pay from the Police Department, a spokeswoman for the Jersey City mayor’s office said. The department’s internal affairs unit is conducting its own investigation, she added.
The sergeant is being held at the Bergen County jail, according to inmate records, and is expected to return to court on Friday. Kevin C. Corriston and Anthony Barbieri, lawyers who were listed in court records as representing him, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Sergeant LaBruno, a Democrat, ran this year for a General Assembly seat in a northeast New Jersey district that includes part of Bergen County. He came in third place behind two Republicans in a tight race, receiving just shy of one-quarter of the district’s votes.
Shortly after the news of the sergeant’s arrest became public, furious comments began to pour into his social media pages, which chronicle his campaigns for office and include photos of his wife and children.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A former state Assembly candidate who was arrested Monday for sexually assaulting a child had used a chemical substance to render the victim "incapacitated," court records show.
Andrew LaBruno, 44, was charged Monday with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering a child, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
Prosecutors told Patch on Wednesday that LaBruno will remain in the Bergen County jail for the time being, after undergoing a detention hearing Tuesday.
LaBruno had met the victim on social media, then went to his home in Englewood Monday while the minor was alone, prosecutors said Tuesday.
According to a complaint filed by Englewood police, after LaBruno was inside the victim's home, he sprayed a substance on his own hand. According to the complaint, LaBruno put his hand over the child's mouth and nose, which made the victim "dizzy" and "incapacitated."
Then, LaBruno forced the victim to perform oral sex on him, the complaint says.
Police later recovered a controlled dangerous substance in connection with the incident, the report shows.
At some point, the Englewood police received a 911 call about the assault.
The child was taken to a medical facility to be treated, the complaint says.
LaBruno was brought to the Bergen County jail.
LaBruno had run as a Democrat for 39th District Assembly and narrowly lost earlier this month.
He was also a Jersey City police sergeant and had served as mayor of the Bergen County town of Dumont.
He was suspended from the police force after they got word of Monday's arrest, said a Jersey City public safety spokesperson.
Investigation Continues
LaBruno lived in Dumont with his wife and kids, according to candidate biographies.
Jersey City Police Department spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said the police will assist the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office with the criminal investigation. The Police Department's Internal Affairs department will conduct its own investigation, she said.
