They’re using the Internet to watch us. We’re using it to fight back.
Yesterday, Demand Progress, along with Fight for the Future, launched the NSA’s least favorite video and within 24 hours it already has 150,000 views.
The NSA is really not going to like this video. After you watch it, you’ll see why. Click here to check it out and then help us spread it to every corner of the Internet.
The video cuts through the lies the NSA has been spreading about their spying apparatus and makes it easy to explain why exactly their spying is something we won’t stand for.
Knowledge is power, and videos like this are one of our most powerful tools against the misinformation being spread about NSA surveillance. Now is the time to spread this video as far as we can across the internet – by forwarding this e-mail, sharing it on Facebook, and linking to it anywhere else you can think of.
Watch The NSA’s least favorite video – then share it with your friends.
On Tuesday night, we launched the video by projecting it on the side of a building in NYC was amazing. We brought movie popcorn and handed it out as people gathered. By 9pm there were already tons of people there, and the numbers kept growing (check out the photos here) – and seeing so many people in NYC made it clear just how many people care about this.
The first step in building a movement against the NSA dragnet is bringing more people to our side by sharing the video and educating our friends and family.
After that, join us and the rest of the Stopwatching.us coalition in Washington DC on Saturday, October 26 to rally against mass spying. There are buses leaving from several major cities. Learn more about the rally here - or check out transportation options here.
Thanks for all you do!
Charlie Furman
About the rally
Right now the NSA is spying on everyone's personal communications, and they’re operating without any meaningful oversight. Since the Snowden leaks started, more than 571,000 people from all walks of life have signed the StopWatching.us petition telling the U.S. Congress that we want them to rein in the NSA.On October 26th, the 12th anniversary of the signing of the US Patriot Act, we're taking the next step and holding the largest rally yet against NSA surveillance. We’ll be handing the half-million petitions to Congress to remind them that they work for us -- and we won’t tolerate mass surveillance any longer.
Who we are
StopWatching.us is a coalition of more than 100 public advocacy organizations and companies from across the political spectrum. We came together in June 2013 to demand the U.S. Congress investigate the full extent of the NSA's spying programs. 18 Sep 2013 The recent NSA revelations have laid it all out: The NSA is watching us online and on our phones. The NSA has corrupted security and cryptography, undermining the fabric of the Internet. Its overreaching surveillance is creating a climate of fear, chills free speech, and violates our basic human rights — and it operates without any meaningful oversight.Read more ...
