Tawah Thecla is married to Asaah Henry and they have brought forth eight children. As a woman who does not like to depend on her husband for all the family needs she decided to join GHAPE in 2009. Tawah has been having a lot of marital problems with her family. Moreover. her husband is an asthmatic patient which makes it difficult at times for him to support the family. She recently lost her son who had been quite helpful to her. Thieves stole her business articles which cause a lot of problem to her. This has made her sad but she is appreciative of the fact that she is alive. Her desire to educate her children keeps her working hard. She states that she feels better each time she provides something, no matter how small, for her children. Her inability to acquire investment capital, which could generate income for her to meet her family needs is what motivated her to obtain a loan from GHAPE.
.
Given a loan, she plans to buy groundnut, cocoyam, beans, cassava, plantain and corn from far off villages to resell at retail in the city. She knows this business will successful because she is located at a good business site and she has a good knowledge of the business. She plans to use the profits generated to sponsor her children in school and to have a bigger house to accommodate the family.
