He's slashing taxes for the richest residents of his state, and wants to eliminate the rights of workers to organize a union, bargain for fair wages or advocate for decent pay and benefits.3 In the middle of it all is your USAction affiliate, Citizen Action of Wisconsin. We're bringing food to protesters, appearing on Fox News to defend teachers and transporting secret communiques for the Senate Democrats -- who have staged a walkout in order to prevent this radical agenda from being rammed though.4 We're doing it all because this fight isn't about the Wisconsin state budget. It's part of a larger strategy by corporations that want to take control of our government. Last year the Supreme Court granted corporations unprecedented rights to influence elections. Now, they want to limit the ability of PEOPLE to organize and keep their freedoms so they can make ends meet for their families. Unions are targeted because they are effectively organizing groups that corporations cannot control. But they won't stop there. Wisconsin is on the front lines of this battle, and the people fighting there need our support. What’s happening in Wisconsin?

The tea party-backed Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker, has declared all-out war on workers’ freedoms. He’s slashing taxes for the richest residents of his state, and wants to eliminate the rights of workers to organize a union, bargain for fair wages or advocate for decent pay and benefits.
But this fight isn’t about the Wisconsin state budget. It’s part of a larger strategy by corporations that want to take control of our government. Last year the Supreme Court granted corporations unprecedented rights to influence elections. Now, they want to limit the ability of PEOPLE to organize and keep their freedoms so they can make ends meet for their families. Unions are targeted because they are effectively organizing groups that corporations cannot control.
