NORTON META TAG

17 December 2012

Will you fight the NRA? GunPromise.com: Pledge to take action until we win.17DEZ12

BOLD PROGRESSIVES are taking the lead on the emerging national debate on revising our nations gun control laws in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass murders in Newtown, CT. The families of the victims in Newtown as well as the families of all victims of gun violence in our nation deserve more than words of sympathy, they need to know the horror of what happened to their families will be the catalyst that moved the nation to enact strict but reasonable gun control laws in an attempt to prevent this from happening again. Please sign on to this campaign for new gun control laws, and share with family and friends. By the by, I own a rifle and a shotgun, and I support stricter gun control laws.

Enable images and help us pass gun legislation in Congress
Hours before 20 children were tragically killed in Connecticut, a man attacked 22 school children in China. None of those kids died -- the attacker only had a knife.
Guns kill people. Now's the time to say it -- and to promise kids in our communities that we will keep saying it until there is action.
Sign a promise to kids in your community: "I will call the White House and Congress once a month until common-sense gun legislation is passed." Click here to sign.
You can also pledge to attend congressional townhall meetings and help defeat opponents of gun control.
Every time our country faces a gun tragedy, big gun manufacturers fund the National Rifle Association to frighten Congress into inaction -- even though regular NRA members join most Americans in supporting new gun laws.
This time, we need to do things differently. We must make a solemn promise together.
Promise to call our government every month -- and not let this moment fade away until we win common-sense gun legislation. Click here.
Then, pass this email to Democrats and Republicans you know, friends in rural and urban communities, and even gun owners. We're all part of this together.
Thanks for caring about our country. And for being part of the solution.
