BUCKNACKT'S SORDID TAWDRY BLOG
We should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate, bier or wein in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO-HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!!!!"

The Times They Are A-Changin' | Brandi Carlile w/Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) | Playing For Change 22JAN21
I remember this song from the turbulent times of the late sixties and early seventies and how some things got better and too many got worse. We are in a period of epic change now and need to join together to heal the nation and repair the damage done by four years of corruption, of authoritarianism, of fascism of the drumpf / trump-pence administration and gop / greed over people-republican control of the US Senate.
Verse of the day
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
- Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
Voice of the day
The cause of freedom is not the cause of a race or a sect, a party or a class - it is the cause of humankind, the very birthright of humanity.
- Anna Julia Cooper, A Voice from the South (1892)
Prayer of the day
God, in your Word you have given us a vision of that holy city to which the nations of the world bring their glory. Enable us to eliminate poverty, prejudice, and oppression, that peace may prevail with righteousness, and justice with order, and that people from different cultures and with differing talents may find with one another the fulfillment of their humanity.
Written more than 50 years ago, the Bob Dylan classic "The Times They Are A-Changin'" is as relevant today as it was then. We invite you to enjoy this touching rendition performed by Brandi Carlile along with Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) from our recent event, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the UN, Peace Through Music. Change is inevitable. It's up to us to create change that uplifts, change that betters ourselves and humankind, and change that is for the good and for the love of everyone. Let's stand strong, united in one love, and be the positive change we want to see in the world.
