Virginia is my home.
I had my first experiences in activism in my home state of Virginia. I helped my mom, a medical secretary, try to organize her hospital in our "right-to-work" state.
This past summer, I was so proud of my friends and family in Charlottesville who stood up to the hatred and bigotry that invaded our hometown.
I've seen firsthand what Republican politics have done to our state. We need to fight back, because we're better than this. We can be a place of economic opportunity. We can come to terms with our past, and embrace our rich diversity for the future. But we can't do it when Republicans control our politics.
Remember to bring a photo ID such as a driver's license, U.S. passport, government-issued ID, Virginia school or university ID, or workplace ID. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you must be allowed to vote. Please call the Voter Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE if there are any issues.
There is so much at stake in this election. The pipelines that are threatening to carve up beautiful Nelson County. Health care that hangs in the balance for hundreds of thousands of Virginians.
I'm so proud of the work that we've done together here at the Progressive Change Campaign Committee to support the candidates running across our commonwealth.
