Who Are the 271 Celibate Men Trying to Control the Sex Lives of American Women? from the DAILY AGENDA 9FEB12

THIS is not just about religious institutions having to provide birth control for women in their health insurance plans. It is an all out assault on the access to birth control for all women by the 271 men making up the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. They claim their position is based in Catholic morality, but one only has to consider these bishops response to the pedophilia still plaguing the Catholic church to question their commitment to Catholic morality. Here's just a few examples from the Daily Agenda.....and you can still participate in the ACLU's letter campaign supporting women's access to birth control here https://secure.aclu.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=4063&s_subsrc=120208_HHS_email

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops – which today called for contraception coverage to be removed from the Affordable Care Act – is comprised of 271 active and 185 retired bishops.  Among them are the following:
  • Bishop John Gaydos, who leads a diocese in Jefferson City, is currently embroiled in a lawsuit for allegedly covering up for Anthony O’Connell, who admitted to repeated abuses of his seminary students.
This institution – which has included and harbored known pedophiles – is now attempting to control American women through their uteruses (and save themselves a little money in the process).
The Conference of Bishops pretends to speak on behalf of American Catholics while it puts the health and well-being of women, children and families at risk.
It’s time to take off the white sheet off and expose the truth.
