The only OFFICIAL Petition to FREE LEONARD PELTIER!

LEONARD PELTIER has languished in prison long enough. He is probably the longest held political prisoner in the U.S. and it is time he be granted a presidential pardon. Our government has a lot to say about other countries human rights records, we need to remind our government we have human rights issues here too. Go to the Free Leonard Peltier website at http://www.leonardpeltier.info
and click the link to sign the petition to Pres Obama to grant him a pardon.
For almost 40 years, a man has been held as a Political Prisoner of the United States.
His name is Leonard Peltier.
He is a Native American Indian. Amnesty International considers Leonard a Political Prisoner and have called for his release.
False evidence and testimony were used to convict him.  Gerald Heaney, the judge who presided over Peltier’s appeal hearing in 1986, subsequently expressed his concerns about the case in a letter to Senator Daniel Inouye, Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Indian Affairs in 1991, expressing his belief that:  “the FBI used improper tactics in securing Peltier’s extradition from Canada [where Peltier fled following the shootings] and in otherwise investigating and trying the Peltier case.” He added: “Although our Court decided that these actions were not grounds for reversal, they are, in my view, factors that merit consideration in any petition for leniency filed.”
All of Leonard's legal appeals against his conviction having been exhausted, his release date is set for 2040.  Leonard is 69 years old, sick, and he deserves to go home to his people to live out the rest of his days.
Join such dignitaries as Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, The Dalai Lama, Sting, COMMON, Pete Seeger, Harry Belefonte and many, many others in DEMANDING the freedom of this, our fellow human being.
Our own safety, civil rights, freedoms and the very CONSTITUTION depend on it.
"Just what was Mr. Peltier convicted of, as we cannot find any evidence of first-degree murder in the record?"  (Judge Heaney, 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, Judge ).
In order to be cohesive with the Campaign for Freedom, we have combined all known petitions into one.
This is THE ONLY OFFICIAL petition!  Thank you for your co-operation.

You do not have to give your personal info and we WILL NOT sell it to anyone especially those pesky people who call and try and sell stuff.
