THE CONGRESS PROBLEM, IT'S NOT THAT OTHER STATE'S REP OR SENATOR, IT MAY BE YOURS

Got this in an e mail from a friend, and the message is clear. The American people are sick of government that doesn't work, of a congress paralyzed by extremist who do not represent the majority of the electorate. Yes, each congressperson is elected by the people in their district and state and their job is to represent those who elected them. But their job is also to join together in congress to govern the nation, and while they have the right and responsibility to present their views, their opinions on legislation, to introduce legislation, and to support or oppose legislation up for a vote they do not have the right to shut down the government and hold the American people hostage while demanding their minority views become law. There will be elections for the house and a third of the senate in 2014. The American people have to consider what their representative's and senators roles were in this debacle, and if they were part of the cabal that shut down the government then it is time to vote them out of office and replace them with a more reasonable, responsible, politically mature representative and/or senator.
