Sea Shepherd E-News: Unveiling our Newest Vessel and Captain Paul Watson Returns 11DEZ12

HERE'S the latest Sea Shepherd E Mail newsletter with a lot of great news! Captain Paul Watson has come out of hiding and is Captain of the SSS Steve Irwin, Operation Zero Tolerance has begun and the Japanese whaling fleet is already loosing economically and politically, and the fourth ship of the Sea Shepherd fleet, the SSS Sam Simon is operational and participating in Operation Zero Tolerance. God Speed good people and boats of Sea Shepherd!!!

Dear Friend of Sea Shepherd,

Operation Zero Tolerance objective: intercept and intervene against the intent of the Japanese whaling fleet to murder 1,035 whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. So far this campaign is on target. The Japanese whaling fleet remains in the Inland Sea of Japan and still has not left. This is the latest they have ever left and we do not expect them in the Southern Ocean until early January. The whalers are well aware that we can intercept them prior to their arrival in the Southern Ocean.

There is absolutely no chance that a whale will be slain in December. Now we need to focus on making January a whaling-free month. This is our most expensive and daring campaign of the year! Please stand with Sea Shepherd and make a donation to support our efforts in the Southern Ocean and around the world.

Introducing the SSS Sam Simon
No, that's not a Japanese research vessel (anymore) — it's the newest addition to Neptune's Navy, the SSS Sam Simon!

This ship was generously purchased for Sea Shepherd by Los Angeles-based philanthropist and co-creator of TV's "The Simpsons," Mr. Sam Simon. It is an ice-strengthened steel vessel that was retired from service by the Japanese Government in 2010 and recently purchased covertly from the Japanese government for use in Sea Shepherd campaigns. Her maiden voyage will be Operation Zero Tolerance!

Our Fearless Captain Has Returned!
Just in time to celebrate the sweetest birthday gift of all by rejoining his crew, Captain Paul Watson is once again in his rightful place on board our flagship vessel, the SSS Steve Irwin, and in command of Sea Shepherd’s fleet.

It’s been four long months of trying to stay one step ahead of politically motivated attacks from the Japanese government, but Captain Watson has finally joined Operation Zero Tolerance, where he will remain in command for the duration of the campaign. Sea Shepherd is poised to help make this Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign the most successful in our history by shutting the whaling fleet down before they can kill a single whale.

Ready, Set, GO-Z-T!
