August 5, 2012 Tiki Gelana also set a new standard for women in the Olympics, with a finishing time of 2:23.07. Kenya's Priscah Jeptoo was second and Russia's Tatyana Petrova Arkhipova finished third.

One more time: American swimmer Michael Phelps dives in to swim the butterfly leg of the men's medley relay Saturday. Phelps' team won the Olympic gold medal, giving him 22 overall and 18 gold when he leaves the London Games.
August 4, 2012 Swimming the final race of his Olympic career, Michael Phelps gilded his resume just a bit more, helping the men's 4x100m medley relay team claim the gold medal. Phelps turned away a surprising challenge from the Japanese relay team, which had the lead when he went into the water to swim butterfly.

August 4, 2012 It's been a big day for Serena Williams. First, she started the day by winning her first individual Olympic gold medal. Then she won a chance for another gold in women's doubles, playing with her sister, Venus. The pair defeated the Russian team of Nadia Petrova and Maria Kirilenko.

August 4, 2012 The U.S. cyclists in the Summer Games' team pursuit event had never before raced on the Olympic stage — after all, theirs is the first American team to make an appearance in the games. But that didn't stop them from taking the silver medal, finishing behind Britain in the final.

August 4, 2012 The U.S. men's doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan won their first Olympic gold medal Saturday, beating France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra, 6-1, 7-6 (6-2), in a game that was far more entertaining than its score might suggest.
