Grant Park, Chicago IL

At the invitation of the White House, military and civilian representatives of the 28-nation US-commanded and largely US-financed North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are meeting in Chicago, May 20-21, 2012. This is the same military apparatus responsible for waging over 10 years of unjust and illegal wars in our names, committing war crimes exposed by the WikiLeaks revelations, and persecuting one of the most influential whistle blowers of our generation, Bradley Manning.
The "Free Bradley Manning" contingent will meet in Chicago IL, at the south entrance of Butler Field in Grant Park, (which is on E Jackson dr, between S Lake Shore dr and S Columbus dr) at 11:00am for the rally and march to McCormick Place on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Look for the massive black and white Free Bradley Manning banner.

Courage to Resist and the Bradley Manning Support Network will also be participating in a panel workshop at the People's Summit May 12-13, 2012, at Occupy Chicago’s headquarters at 500 W Cermak Rd. We will be discussing Bradley Manning & GI resistance in relation to other political prisoners, the prison industry, and U.S. military intervention and world dominance. The panel is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, in workshop block 2 from 2:15-3:45pm. For more info, contact Michael at michael@couragetoresist.org
In stark contrast to NATO’s pursuit of war and militarism, the People's Summit is grassroots and open to the public, and entry is free of charge. The event is of, by, and for the 99 percent to discuss our own vision of the kind of world we want to live in.

So your brother's bound and gagged
And they've chained him to a chair
Won't you please come to chicago just to sing
In a land that's known as freedom how can such a thing be fair
won't you please come to chicago for the help that we can bring
We can change the world rearrange the world
It's dying - to get better
Politicians sit yourselves down, there's nothing for you here
won't you please come to chicago for a ride
don't ask jack to help you `cause he'll turn the other ear
won't you please come to chicago or else join the other side
We can change the world rearrange the world
it's dying - if you believe in justice
dying - and if you believe in freedom
dying - let a man live his own life
dying - rules and regulations, who needs them open up the door
Somehow people must be free I hope the day comes soon
won't you please come to chicago show your face
From the bottom of the ocean to the mountains of the moon
won't you please come to chicago no one else can take your place
We can change the world rearrange the world
It's dying - if you believe in justice
dying - and if you believe in freedom
dying - let a man live his own life
dying - rules and regulations, who needs them open up the door
