House votes to defund NPR 18MAR11

PLEASE click the header or links to sign the petition to the U.S. Senate to reject the legislation from the House defunding NPR and PBS. Even Glenn Beck has spoken out in defense of NPR (see my earlier post GLENN BECK BLAST ANTI-NPR VIDEO 16MAR11). This service is vital to the nation, providing educational TV for children at home and schools, entertainment for families and unbiased, in-depth news reporting in all sections of the nation (see my earlier post WHY THE (HOUSE) REPUBLICANS HATE NPR 18MAR11). We will become a less informed and more polarized country if NPR and PBS loose government funding. Please sign the petition and share with family, friends and co-workers....
Yesterday, (17MAR11) House Republicans passed an "emergency" bill that would ban any federal money from going to NPR.
This is it: our last chance to save public broadcasting, after more than a decade of fending off Republican attacks. More than 600,000 people have already signed the petition, and we're aiming for 750,000 to show the Senate how much support public broadcasting has.
Can you help us reach our goal by sharing the petition on Facebook right now?

Thanks for all you do.

P.S. You can also just forward the email below asking people to sign:
The Republicans in the House of Representatives just passed what they called "emergency" legislation to zero out funding for NPR. We're on the verge of losing this fight, after more than a decade.
We need to tell Republicans that cutting off funding was unacceptable last time they were in charge, and it's unacceptable now.
I've signed the petition to save NPR and PBS. Can you join me at the link below?

Thanks!
