SOCIAL SECURITY: PCCC member on MSNBC 12FEB11

THE campaign to protect Social Security continues and is actually becoming more intense, much hangs in the balance. WE can not allow the retirement age to be raised, can not allow politicians to manipulate the Social Security payroll tax to underfund the program to create a financial crisis, and we must protect the Social Security Trust Fund and not allow it to be used in any deficit reduction scheme. This from PCCC

Video: Representatives read PCCC member stories
When the Republicans tried to cut health care last month, bold members of Congress used the real stories of real people to fight back. Over half the stories read on the House floor were from PCCC members -- and one lucky PCCC member even told her story on MSNBC!
Now, Republicans are threatening Social Security and members of Congress are again asking for our help to fight back. They need real stories from Virginia -- saying how Social Security cuts would impact families like yours.
Watch the video of PCCC members' stories being read on the House floor. Then, tell us how Social Security cuts or raising the retirement age would impact you, no matter how old you are.
Our Capitol Hill director Shaunna Thomas is working with a group of Democratic members of Congress who are eager to highlight the real stories of people who would be impacted if the Social Security benefits are cut or the retirement age was raised. So we'll share your stories with them.
We're also teaming up with our friends at Democracy for America to gather as many stories as possible and get targeted ads up on TV. But we need your help.
Click here to watch the video and share how cuts to Social Security benefits or raising the retirement age would affect you.
Please pass this email to others you know who would be impacted by Social Security cuts. And thanks for being a bold progressive.
